Vantage
Looking to buy a facelift n/a , so my questions are; 1.How do I identify whether it has vvti engine 2.Does anyone have offical performance figures 3.As an import, what should I look for on whatever documentation the seller has 4.At 50 , will I be oldest member Remember it was posts to my original thread that got me into this, as they were enthusiastic and helpful Regards James
Ian W
1.It will say 'vvti' on it (the engine/spark plug cover area) and have no distributor cap but coil packs 2.search the forum for these 3.as much service history as possible, last service and belt changes etc as normal. also check for a bimta certificate to try and at least partially verify whether the mileage is genuine or not. 4.no welcome to the club
AndyT
All of the above James. Someone is putting together a FAQ with all the performance figure mate. It will take a little time. Paperwork, as always, essential. Welcome to the club mate.
Faye
1. A recent VVTI NA discussion has resulted in the general consensus that there is no such thing as a VVTI NA in RHD so you shouldn't have any problems there. Good luck on the search
Jake
We now think the VVTi NA was LHD only. AFAIK nobody on here has ever seen a j-spec VVTi NA. See the attached pic of a (LHD) VVTi NA - for identification purposes. ------------- Edit, GRRRR! Beaten to it by Faye wwhile looking for the photo. Faye
this was the thread in question http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=51817 I have a lot of doubts it was a VVTI - I've got a facelift sales brochure and there is no NA VVTI option.
