darren j adams
We just had the AEM mapped over two days . The car drives like a dream ,idles(14.7) and starts better than standard. My brother let me drive it for the first time in four years and what a buzz. I cant believe its so smooth and responsive. Thor did a fab job,big thanks to pete and nod. They said its the biggest bhp they have ever had on straight no additives pump gas.(optimax) We are so pleased i cant say. Thanks Darren/Peter. darren j adams
Hi Maybe race on 10th but car been off road for nearly a year and we need to bed the clucth in and have a practice. The turbo is a sp 76. Yes its 769 at the hubs. Pete at thor did a great job and we stoped him. He only went to 7500 at 1.8bar. We can run 8000 2.0 but we run out of time. I think pete at thor can get it to 800 on pump but will see next time on dyno. 31bhp short so close and yet so far. I think we need one more day at thor. Thanks we are pleased and we have 345 drag radials on drag wheels to try and get it to the ground. d.
dude
Hey dude nice one , i hope you can run at the pod on the 10th , i may have lost a piston ring tonight but should be able to throw something together for the 10th , nice going Darren and Pete , next year should be 'interesting' to say the least !!!! Dude :flame Dev
darren j adams
Hi Dude Thanks but its going to be hard to get a six speed to beat your great time. I hope your car is alright. The 10th will be on if we can get some runs in before to see what happens with drag radials ,new clutch and 769 at the hubs. It could well be more of a handful than if we had less pwer. D. dude
You will need to allter the rear geometry Darren for the strip , i think your right having your work cut re the 6 speed , i would strongly advise that you keep a carefull ear out for wheel hop as thats waht will kill your axle/shafts or box , this is why your safer using something like the ET Street (dot marked) as itr is nothing more than a slick but it WILL hook up and eliminate wheel hop , you can get these in 16" or 15" , ive gone for the 15's . darren j adams
Thanks Dude I will keep an eye on the rear. We dont know how its going to go so need some practice. D.
dude
Remember D wheel hop = BIG bills !!!! Dude:flame Dev
darren j adams
We know about big bills we dont need any more. I just read that we ran 769 at 1.6bar so i may have it wrong. Thor said so who am i to argue. D.
dude
IMO 1.6 bar on pump fuel is the ragged edge , i wont run more than 1.4 bar then im at 350 hp !!! Dude:flame Dev
darren j adams
We never had any knock at all. I still want to try2.0bar for 800 on pump. I just have to try. D.
Miguel
That seriously scares me 2 bar on pump are you using the pump at Brans hatch by any chance. Good luck to you you seem to be getting good results. Keep its going and push it forward:thumbs:
Syed Shah
Very nice numbers! However, that much boost on Optimax would make me nervous. You must be running with seriously retarded timing to do that, and probably very rich AFRs as well. Keep an eye on the EGTs on high speed runs. CJ
Very impressive numbers Darren. Good to see all the hard work is paying off
darren j adams
Not brands hatch fuel, local shell station pete at thor went to. Not rich AFRs . Cant be that retarded to make 769 on pump. Thanks CJ it helps when it all comes together. D.
Alex
How driveable is the car? Nice numbers indeed. Would like to see the full spec esp what you've done to allow 8,000rpm!
