blert596
Hi, Have just got a puncture in my 265/35ZR18 97Y rear Eagle F1 tyre and cant find a replacement anywhere. I usually use blackcircles but they say its being phased out and they have no stock at all, and neither do any of their suppliers. Short of buying 2 new rears as they both have a lot of tread on them is it OK to mix with another type? I know you shouldnt mix and match but how bad would it be if I just bought a single other brand tyre? Or should I just write off this option altogether. Financially I'd much prefer not to have to but 2 new rears obviously. I've managed to get the car into work and tried pumping it up with one of them car lighter pumps, but to no avail. Anyone got any ideas where I could source a single from that could be done today? I'm in the Glasgow/Hamilton area and have tried Kwik fit etc to no avail. Even tried a mobile fitter who haven't bothered to get back to me after telling them what I need. Any help appreciated Cheers Billy Oh, and I'm really not sure about puting the spare 15" one on as apparantly there are spacers on for the 18's so have no idea how this would affect things. Also the cars better off at work for any replacement during the day.
Thorin
They are indeed phasing them out. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=112672&highlight=goodyear You could try ringing Ibrar@TyreLogic on here, he may be able to track a single tyre down for you. I would not put two different tyres on the back, I did once, terrible handling, I was suprised at how much worse it was. Spacers are always a bad idea but the space saver wheel should be fine still. If funds are an issue, I can highly recommend getting two Falken F452's instead, I really can't say I've noticed a difference between the F1's I had previously and these. Cheap too. blert596
Thanks mate. just for the future, any idea when the Asymetric replacements are going to be available? No one seems to have them yet, but have got rid of all the ones they're replacing. Gutted at having to get rid of a perfectly good F1 with loads of tread on it. However, looks like I'm gonna be looking around for someone who can fit a set of something or others TODAY as I need the car. Having a look around for a decentish cheaper option, but the priority is to get someone to just come in to work and fit them for me really. Preferably ASAP. Mas
check here mate http://www.mytyres.co.uk they have them for £138.70 each I've used them for the past 4 years and they are one of the best tyre dealers
blert596
thanks for the tips guys, but the search continues. Hawleys dont have any in and wont send to Glasgow anyway. Mytyres have them, but will take 4 days to send out. Bugger Blackcircles will do: Falken GRB FK 452 (Extra Load) 265/35 R18 Y £140.81 fully fitted or the remarkably cheap Fullrun HP 199 265/35 R18 W £87.54 fully fitted. Not being a speed merchant, my bird thinks the cheaper ones will be sound....however I'm not so sure for those odd flashes that I get when she's not there. Also Bestbuy tyres are showing: 265/35R18 97Y GYR EAGLE F1 GS-D3 MASERATI REAR XL at £190. they are busy at the mo but does the Maserati sh*te mean anything? Cheers
RedM
Your size is not being phased out. Tell anyone who doubts you that you've been told this by Goodyear. TBH it's probably just stock issue at GY.
Pixelfill
Martin I thought the 263/35/18 was being phased out in GSD3. Mike

RedM
I really wouldn't scrimp on tyres TBH. That's a recipe for disaster.
