LeeT
when braking my brake pedal pulses under my foot and the car judders to a stop. when braking from higher speeds the front of the car feels like its jumping almost. i feel absolutely no vibration through the steering wheel just the pedal. does this sound like disc warpage? any help appreciated cheers ...lee
TLicense
I get a similar thing when the brakes get VERY hot (ie lots of smoke - reminds me I've got to talk to the Brembo bloke) where as I'm braking the front of the car will shake. However as the brakes cool, it returns to normal. I kinda put it down to knock off, but may be wrong. Chris W should be able to confirm. LeeT
a little update on this. ive just taken both discs off and looked at individually and no visible signs of cracking.so obviously the discs are warped slightly.. using a vernier caliper the discs are pretty much as new so what i want to know is the tolerances for skimming the disks cheers ..lee
merckx
My rear discs had the min allowable thickness stamped on them, not sure about the front.
TLicense
If it is warped discs shouldn't you feel vibration through the steering wheel? The way to check will be to get a dial test indicator and then find out what the run out is. I'm not sure what an exceptable amount is. I think it's in the manual. Cheers.
