madmunky
Having not really been in a turbo car like the supra can some explain how the boost should work, On mine Jap Auto TT RZ the turbos are set to run parallel, If i put the car indrive i get 1.1 - 1.2bar boost, this is all good up to around 90-100 at which time the car revs high (almost red lineing) but the boost seems to drop to around 0.5bar then when the car changes up gear boost goes back up again for a bit the slowly dies down to 0.5bar again. Not sure if its a problem with something not setup right, maybe i need to walbro fuel pump or remap but is this normall or does it sound like i have a problem? Is the a way to check both turbos are spinning up and working?
madmunky
Anyone?
Jake
The stock ECU isn't mapped to run like that. I would put it back to sequential mode for a start and see what it's like then. Why is it running the turbos in parallel anyway?
madmunky
The car has a mines ecu but im not sure how thats been mapped, the guy i brought the car setup the turbos to run like this he said the problem was due to needing a upgraded fuel pump (walbro) and a remap just wondering if this is true. dwayne
can you change it back to sequential? in your pics it looked like your solid vacuum lines had been removed. maybe you should get it next to another members car and spot the differences
madmunky
Yeah lines have been removed, I think i have them laying around somewhere but wouldnt know how to reconnect them.
Nic
The mines ECU is not set up to run the turbos in parallel either, it is mapped to run in sequential mode, but with mapped for more power, it also removes (or raises, not sure which) the fuel cut and speed limiter. I wouldn't run the car in parallel mode without it being properly mapped to suit. I would return it back to stock sequential setup and see how it behaves. bignum
Boost droping off could be a leak somewhere,i/c pipe, bov pipe or many others.
madmunky
Should boost always stay at 1.2bar then and never drop down?

madmunky
For checking for boost leaks where best to start, all pipes? vac pipes, intercooler? Any common pipes to look for which would cause boost drop?
boomstick
Free bump... I have go the same problem (auto, sequential mode). Builds boost to 1.2bar without any problems. Holds it for about 2-5 seconds (until 5500 rpm) and then slowly drops to 0.6. After the autobox shifts boost goes up again to 1.2... and repeat... TESTED (without any results ): - All piping/vacuums have been replaced with SFS. - free bcc (turbo press sensor block off). - Disconnected WG actuator - played around with de Blitz BC settings (set/gain) - Blitz BC disabled - RLTC disabled (original trac fuse is removed) To go: - WG spring modification (as described on supraforum.com) - ECU swap (from a friend without boost probs) - ... out of options ... going single All input is welcome. madmunky
Have you got the standard fuel pump in yours? Have you tried what other suggest and put the car back to standard see how to boost runs?
boomstick
Have you got the standard fuel pump in yours? Have you tried what other suggest and put the car back to standard see how to boost runs? I do have the standard fuel pump... My idea of "back to standard" is turning off the boost controller. Tried it with the same result: no change, boost still drops.
