Ian W
Just for any budding photographers out there. Could do a lot worse than the Nikon D40 DSLR that Jessops currently have an offer on £349 with £60 cash back from Nikon meaning you get it for £289 all in. Interested? toyotasuprauk
This is a great camera I've been thinking about getting one for a while and now it has the £60 cash back from Nikon I'm sure I'll get one. Jessops are cheeky though as I’m sure they have put the price up to coincide with Nikons cash back!
JustGav
Friend of mine is looking for a camera, I'll just buzz her to see if she wants an SLR or point and shoot.

KaoriFan
Dx40 is what Im looking at right now, seems like you cant get them less than £400 anywhere ! check out eBay, you can get some great buys on there. last weekend I bought my D200 from there on Saturday, had it sent Monday, and arrived early Tuesday. Camera is like new so very happy. Sometimes eBay is the place to be for a bargain. There were/are quite a few D40's, or even D80's at great prices on eBay this week. Only thing now is the bidding wars to buy Sandisk Extreme III - 4GB CF cards. But won't buy them new, too expensive. 120GBP for a 4GB in shops, cost me 26 inc shipping from eBay. good luck, and happy hunting for a D40. ja ne Ian
RedM
Don't forget that Jessops are closing down 80+ stores. Just in case you need to take it back like.

The Road Warrior
Have a question for you DSLR experts out there, I'm looking for an entry level DSLR with 10MP, comes down to the Nikon D40x or the Canon D400. Both have rave reviews, and comparisons are v.close. Prefer the handling of the Nikon. Any others worth considering? Any advice appreciated
Paul
I've just got a Canon 400D, £300 new from a guy at work:) He got it three months back, used it once and needed the cash so I got in there. I had a Canon EOS 1000F (non digital) for years and then a Ricoh compact digital, I loved the shots the Canon took and the ease of use/features etc. but wanted the convenience of digital. Up till this week I've thought all digitals were crap but the 400D is superb!! Even better is that those EF lenses that I have for the old SLR all fit and work a treat on the Digital Canon. Love everything about the Canon, especially at the price I've paid;)
