Havard
Ordered a new bedroom carpet after completing my decorating. It was booked in for "some time" today. Got a knock at the door at 7AM this morning......!!!!! W.T.F!! The fitter was a bit snotty with me as I wasn't completely ready for them. He said "I can come back but we will charge you extra for an aborted fitting!!" It was funny to see his reaction when I told him I played football with his boss every week....... He suddenly became the perfect gentleman, couldn't do enough for us. Anyway, I agreed to let him do the job but made a huge mistake!! I had a picture in my mind of a guy quietly rolling a carpet and cutting it with a stanley knife.... Forgot about the noise made whilst nailing loose floor boards and carpet gripper. My neighbour next door is going to love me!! Will nip round later with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates!! The fitter reckons that 7AM is usual for their first call?? Has the same problem when Argos delivered my sons bed......7.15 on a Saturday morning!! Anyone else found this then?? H.
MrHanky
Damn I wish all the people I had things delivered with did the same We are usually up at that time anyway, and when we are expecting things, we are usually the last in line and end up waiting around the house all day Ordered a new bedroom carpet after completing my decorating. DamanC
I would have told to fuck off tbh. 9am is when the general working world starts imo. Manaul jobs do start earlier but 7.15 takes the piss. Most people are asleep!

Havard
Looking back, I should have told him to "ram it!!" My mate owns the carpet firm and had done me a bit of a favour on the price, so I didn't want to mess one of his staff about tbh!!..... As the room is empty, the noise created was massive. I am sure John next door is waiting to pick his moment to have a word........ Under the same circumstances I woluld have gone loopy!! H. turbonut
yeah, bummer for sure but at least that way you don't loose all day waiting for someone who eventually turns up at 5:15! PS when you take your neighbour some wine, take some earplugs too Hope it looks good though Lx
