Bob
Managed to sell my Image Dynamics sub (in brand new condition) on ebay for £250 + p&p. All securely boxed up in the original packaging too. Got an email and a phone call, and now some pictures through from the buyer - it looks like DHL managed to either remove the sub or damage the packaging. Either way, the fact remains the same - the sub was dropped from a height and is now destroyed and completely unusable - the cone is stuck rigid with the voice coils in the bottom of the magnet, and it is not possible to move the cone in any way. And to give the game away, the whole bottom of the box is resealed with DHL tape. I know the box was secure as I checked it fully before sending it out - the bottom was secured with high-strength webbed tape, so there's no way it would have been damaged by the packaging failing. I've been on the Parcel2Go website (courier service through them) and I apparently have to supply all the paperwork along with original receipts for the item, all within 14 days, to claim. Which is impossible as I am in Cyprus for another 4 weeks. Any advice people? Can I try and claim through small-claims court or is it a lost cause? Mate, when I'm going on holiday it's usually pot luck that I remember to take my passport, let alone receipts for a sub I bought over a year ago! JamesG
How about just asking Parcel2Go for an extension to the 14 days? That would seem to be reasonable.
Bob
just spoke to p2g, and the most they can do is 'put a note on the system'

JustGav
DHL = Drop it ,Hide it ,Lose it Yes, yes, this is what we called them as well (and this was while I was working for them)... I'll have a word with a guy I know at Systems (my old boss) in Prague (DHL DataCenter) to see if he has any contacts at DHL UK. Not sure if he is still has the contacts but I can ask.. Bob
Well I've sent a letter off explaining everything to Parcel2Go (as all claims apparently have to go through them rather than direct through the courier - I paid them for the parcel + additional insurance anyway). I'm not holding out much hope, but if they say no, I'll just get some legal advice when I get home.
