j80leo
can anyone tell me the difference between the gt4088 and the gt60 and to get 600 bhp do you needto do any engine mods like pistons many thanks;)
bolarbag
You have a FMIC that you can use....so thats 1g that you can take off of the ten you should be prepared to spend;) Fuel Management Turbo Not sure what size of exhaust you have but most likely it will be 3inch, so you could use that, if its not you should invest in a 3inch system at least You will find it hard to achieve 600bhp on just a GT60 alone(RR dependant) Your auto box maybe a restriction for that figure, Better cooling too will be needed the list is endless! In response to your question...you wouldnt need to change pistons/internals for moderate boost but almost everything else!

Jake
I've had both those turbos. You can't make 600bhp with a GT60. Not on pump fuel and sane boost levels anyway. I doubt you could do it with a 4088 either but you'd get nearer. Why the 600hp requirement anyway? Have you been in a GT60 or 4088 powered Supra? JamieP
Yeah? Blimey. At what boost was that? 1.5 bar, Im sure mine will be the same with the new turbo on, i made 575bhp @1.4 dropping to 1.2bar on the old damaged tubby.
Nic
As said the GT4088 will get you close to 600hp, the smaller T60 will make around 500+hp. You'll need to budget around £10K for the build minimum to do it properly (ie. so that it is reliable). Ideally with that sort of power you should at least get your engine rebuilt with stock internals to make sure it is up to the job, ideally stronger internals. You'll need to consider the following: Fueling Pump, injectors, rail, fuel ines, fuel pressure regulator, etc. ECU + Mapping What do you have at the moment, emanage or emanage ultimate? Drivetrain You'll need to fit a stronger clutch to cope with the power. Do you have an LSD fitted? Turbotkit Quite a number of different setups to choose from. For around 600hp you're looking at T67, GT4088, PHR stage 2, HKS T-04, Greddy T78 etc. Gauges You'll ned a few gauges to monitor things eg. AFR, boost, EGT, OIl temp etc. Cooling Stock rad should be up to the job if in good condition, what HKS FMIC do you have fitted, the S or R type? Oil Cool. There are also a lot of other parts you will need, eg. plugs, gaskets, oil lines, water lines (if DBB), etc.

The 2 row HKS S-Type FMIC is also not really up to the job at this power level.
