tbourner
I've searched and now got 2 pages of info on plugs, but I'm still confused. So, here it is, I don't really wanna spend £70 odd on a set of plugs, and I've heard the cheapy ones are just as good but would need changing maybe every few thousand miles. But which ones. The list so far: NGK PFR7B (4853) - These are the £75 ones. NGK BKR7E (6097) OR NGK BCPR7ES (3330) - These are more like £15, but how often would they need changing and how often would the 4853s need changing? Heard a lot of mention of IK22s too - also more the £70 range, why are they talked about so much? Denso PK20R11 - £40-£50. My car is standard apart from full decat, exhaust and air filter. Alex
The 6097 or 3330's will be fine. Gap to about .8mm The IK's do rock and last much much longer. The NGK's should be changed every 6k miles max. The Denso's are 20k minimum.

merckx
I've got a similar spec car (1.2bar boost) and I was getting a misfire with the Denso PK20R11. I replaced them with the NGK BKR7E (6097), the car is now running perfectly(£10.43 a set from Partco). Don't think these plugs have a particularly short life it's just the IK22's have a long life. (Does that make sense?) mkiv.com recommend the NGK BKR7E (6097) for a BPU spec
