Animal
Okay, here's one that's been bugging me for ages and you guys seem to do well at these sort of questions... I was having a discussion about programs that scared you as a kid and remembered one that really terrified me. It would have been in the eighties sometime, and I think it was a short series, but the first episode shit me up so much I couldn't watch it. I seem to think it was called summat like 'It Came From Beyond' or some such cheesy title. I think it was centred around the Gunpowder Plot, can't remember anything else, but at the end, possiby Guy Fawkes was there and revealed himself to be the 'thing' by pulling open his shirt. Whatever he revealed scared the bejesus out of me and I'd love to find out what it was and see if I could find it to watch agin. It's probably bloody awful now, but hey. Really vague, I know, but I've been wracking my brains trying to remember it and it's starting to bug me now. It's someone else's turn. RedM
Could it be Into The Labyrinth? http://www.thechestnut.com/labyrinth/labyrinth2.htm Scroll down for a Guy Fawkes-esque character. Main page here: http://www.thechestnut.com/labyrinth/labyrinth.htm The episode you are thinking of is from Season 2 10th August 1981 TREASON by Christopher Priest Guest Cast: Patrick Malahide (King James), Ian MacKenzie (Catesby). The children are transported to the time of James I, and uncover a very different version of the gunpowder plot. Rothgo is Guy Fawkes, an agent of King James sent to spy on the treacherous Robert Catesby, but doomed to fall foul of Belor in the guise of Queen Anne http://www.the-mausoleum-club.org.uk/timescreen/Trial%2013/ts13.htm

RedM
Could it be 'They Came From Somewhere Else'? I have no episode guides but the description is ace. They Came From Somewhere Else UK, C4 (TVS), Sitcom, Colour, 1984 Starring: Robin Driscoll, Tony Haase, Pete McCarthy A curious comedy that blended sci-fi with parodies of soaps and adventure programmes, and with a dash of horror thrown into the mix. The writers and main cast were four people who worked under the collective name Cliff Hanger, and they developed the series from a stage production they had mounted in Brighton. The humorously exciting - and, frankly, bizarre - episodes were set in the (fictional) new town of Middleford, wherein materialised a curious attaché case and the mysterious Stranger, who might just have been an alien in human form, and where zombies roamed, liver rained down from the sky, twilight zones were entered and, when people weren't suffering from a migraine epidemic, they were liable to explode. Cast Robin Driscoll - The Stranger Tony Haase - Martin Pete McCarthy - Colin Rebecca Stevens - Wendy Paddy Fletcher - The 'They're Coming' Man Tamsin Heatley - Shauna Patti Bee - Professor Peter Leabourne - Anthony David Gale - Sergeant Ella Wilder - WPC Julie Hilda Braid - Mrs Maynard Harry Ditson - First GI Tyrone Huggins - Second GI Crew Robin Driscoll - Writer Tony Haase - Writer Pete McCarthy - Writer Rebecca Stevens - Writer Jim Hill - Director John Dale - Producer Transmission Details Number of episodes: 6 Length: 30 mins 14 July-18 Aug 1984 · Sat 10pm
