CoPilot Live 6 - Best Prices?

It's been a while since I've purchased software and I don't really know where to look for the best prices - can anyone here help me?

The thing I'm looking for is "CoPilot Live 6 for Nokia N95"

http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=148775

The cheapest I've found so far is £69.95 plus P&P but it's from a company I haven't heard of:

Any experience with them? Any other places I should look? I've had a Google but can't seem to beat the above...

"DITTO"

(although im sure there will be dodgy copies out there

not that i would of course)

I used my N95's own gps voice guidance for the first time this weekend, (worked well) but like you probalby dont want to continuously pay for it etc ..

The Nokia GPS stuff is OK but I don't like the idea of paying £50 for a 3 year subscription and I'm not keen on the display, it also confuses junctions with corners sometimes - gets you to where you want to be though :)

CoPilot seems to be a more complete package and because you actually get a box with things in it you can sell it on later if you move to something else.

Is CPL6 better than TomTom in some way then? I'm using TT6 on my n95 and it works great - and of course it was free, which is always nice.

I just wish I could find a car kit for the n95 that would charge it in the holder.

Michael.........:)

Sorry, missed this earlier.

Installed, working and happy - does a good job of navigation, lots of options for the display and the tracking facility is quite cool. Built in speed camera database is basic but effective.

My only gripe would be that you have to set it up and then hope it's all how you want it, the buttons on the N95 and lack of touch screen mean it's a little dangerous to try and change settings on the move. Not a big thing as it's usually spot on if you configure the defaults to your needs.

I'm happy with it, haven't used it in real anger as yet because the holder and charger are in the Supra but on the tests I've done it's been good. No traffic jams encountered for the live part to do it's thing but it's only a matter of time :)

Can take a while to get a sat lock but that's a failing of the outdated chip in the N95 rather than the software.

Overall I'm happy, which takes a bit of effort :)

I opted for it because it supports the built in GPS, it means I can use the navigation whenever I want, I always have a phone with me but the bluetooth GPS rarely left the car when I had one.

TT didn't offer full support for the N95 but said it was coming - do you have a version that uses the onboard GPS?

Agreed, I'm amazed they don't cash in on these things earlier - as it stands I'm using the Nokia CR-39 and HH-12 with a DC-4 for power - looks quite neat but cradle presses the side buttons when you close it to grip the phone.

I tried the integrated gps receiver for 5 mins but rapidly came to the conclusion that it sucked. Even in the Nokia manual it says it may lose signal if the phone isn't at a 45degree angle or even if your finger was over the # key! So I couldn't imagine it being much cop IRL. I'm happy to be proved wrong once a hooky version of CPL6 comes out though.

I haven't had any issues once it gets a lock but you have to be outside, facing the right way while doing a specific dance to do that sometimes :)

My old GPSlim SIRF III would pick up satellites while I was at my desk, 30ft from a window on the ground floor or a building with hefty walls, the Nokia just laughs at me if I try that ;)

It's a minor inconvenience, the convenience of having built in GPS outweighs this for me but I'm still completely amazed that Nokia didn't go for a SIRF III chip.

i have tried the built in GPS chip and its been working well (outside etc)

but the Nokia Maps thing sucked pants big time (sending you all over the place)

so opted for using tom tom 6 .010 with a bluetooth Gps for now, but forsee in future i could be using CoPilot of similar for an all in one solution

btw , i bought a phone holder from tescos for the nokia that plugs into the cig lighter, a sort of "charge as you hold as you go" thing
