Clarkey
I'm looking at buying this power shower. I need a power shower, because my bathroom & my water tank are on the same level in my flat So gravity fed electric shower wouldn't cut it. But it doesn't say if the pump is inclusive of the £190 + delivery. Will I need to buy a pump seperately ? I'm a complete plumbing and DIY tool. Hence, perhaps the obvious question. dangerous brain
Where in that unit can you fit a pump?? Your'e avin a larf. That looks to me like a standard shower. Also something to consider is the showers KW rating. Ensure the electrical wiring you have can cope with that power you can't just shove it on the ring main. I had to instal 10mm cable to fit my 9.5kw shower. 6mm will cope with a 6-7.5kw shower. OK I will reword that http://www.mirashowers.com/onlinecatalog/pdf/p3783_4.pdf it does have a pump but I will guarantee its utter crap. All decent power shower pumps are pretty much the size of that whole unit. You'd do better to fit a seperate pump on the water supply line and buy a cheaper shower. My 9.5kw shower cost me less than a ton in homebase and a single supply line pump will knock you back about £60 PS I used to do kitchen and bathroom fitting so feel free to pm me. I know stuff has changed in 2 years but pumps are pumps lol. Reading the tech spec its saying that the max input flow rate is 16l per minute and the shower itself is rated to 14l per minute which definitely tells me the pump is next to useless. OK just re-read this as I scanned it first. This is in fact just a pump unit. It doesn't heat the water like standard electric showers do (the bit where it said the electrical supply only needed to be 1mm cable made me go looking at the specs properly). I'll still be sceptical about its ability to deliver a decent pump rate.

You will only need a 1.0mm2 cable with a 3amp fuse as its fed from cold and hot tanks as it does NOT heat the water, just mixes the hot and cold before it hits the pump

I need to feed 10mil cable from my main box to carry the current. 9000 watts is alot! I've got my electrician coming this week to give me a quote and a report of exactly what needs doing .. so I can pass it to my leasehold property management company .. so I can get permission to drill a hole through the ceiling and run cabling from the main to the bathroom.
