Hi,

New to the site just got a jap TT man 6speed

Very pleased with it, great cars :)

On full boost runing 1bar on occasion the engine managment light comes on for a few secs then goes back off again.

Any ideas???

Ive heard that the fuel cut off are triggered quite easily on these cars, is this true?

Also

im after the passenger panel section part just above the glove box.

Cash waiting, anyone?

Thanks

Rossi

yeah cuts out on full throttle.

example

was doing about 80mph so i dropped it down to 4th and about 5500rpm the power just cut out light was on. Then pulled again and light went off.

Has done this about 3 times in the last few weeks. Should i be worried,

Only done 45,000miles

Im from Gillingham

any ideas?

Yep, sounds like fuel cut. Nothing really to be worried about. You're hitting higher boost than Toyota intended and hitting the safety cut. thats all.

Fuel cut defenders are the solution. Do you have a boost gauge? - Would be nice to monitor whats happening, although if you were running too high boost, it would be cutting more often.

If you want a fuel cut defender you can either get one direct from Thor, (see one of the banners at the top of the site), or I can supply and install one of the Thor ones for about £95+vat. I'm based in Maidstone

yeah i have a boost guage.

See when i picked the car up it had a boost controller and was running 1.2bar of boost.

I have removed this due to insurance reason. only allowed 6 mods and my coilovers etc.. have used over that already so i took a few things off.

Its now running 0.9-1.0 bar of boost.

Would u expect that to cut out? If it did cut the fuel would u expect the light to come on breifly just to warn u this.

Thanks not worry as much now only happened a few times.

These fuel defenders do u recomend them? Are they safe to run?

Maidstone only 10mins from me

thanks for the help.

sounds like its modded a bit. can you send any pics of the water gauge to [email protected]

do you have any pics of your car before you took them all out.

you have took 6 gauges out

fuel cut can be a bit worrying when it first happens to you. it was ok if you gently pressd accelerator peddle. it used to happen when you press accelerator peddle hard.

if it has been running 1.2 bar boost should it not have a fuel cut in already.

yeah i know but if they didnt pay out over 6 gauges who anoyed would u be.

My mate had all his mods declaired.

he took out the backseats. Crashed insurance wouldnt pay out and not only havent paid out they prosecuted him too!

He didnt even know its was a mod.

So im playing it safe.

They have allowed me 6 mods with out putting the premium up but cant exceed it.

See didnt think it was a mod but when i rang up they told me after i paid the insurance so they have it on their records that i had 30 days to remove them.

So the first thing they gonna check is the gauges.

Wish i didnt open my big mouth now.

:(

Where u from in kent?

Silver

ive only had it about 1 month just got it imported over.

havent got any good pics of it yet. Will get some and post them up.

Cars obviously had money spent on it as got reciepts for $3000 for the wheels without tyres and the exhaust was $1400

hate to think how much the coilovers cost.

Loving it though :)
