gaz1
is this an easy job, and which one would fit i have a gt40/88 with xs power manifold and wastegate
Ric
it's an easy job if you can get to the bolts otherwise certain parts may have to be removed to get to it, turbo, manifold etc
Homer
The XS power manifold has a retangular wastegate flange, but most wastegates have a square one. I don't know of any wastegates you can bolt directly on to it It's a manifold off job to get the flange cut off and new ones added I think. Why are TF not doing this for you?? Homer
does the car have to be remapped after this mod? If the old wastegate was faulty then yes, it'll need remapping.
GeordieSteve
We changed the flange and fitted a 44mm Tial unit
johnd-mkiv
If the old wastegate was faulty then yes, it'll need remapping. its going to need doing as its not holding apparently shown on the mapping charts. i think boost creep was the term, he said it was basically due to the XS wastegate. Typical fault on the XS power one (though thankfuly mines been okay so far). It will need remapping though as I wouldn't have thought you could map one if it was overboosting. Homer
The HKS and Tial ones are what most of the 'real' experts have recommended. Size wise the manifold can fit 50mmm or below. I think the HKS is 50mm, the Tial 44mm. The size doesn't really matter though, 44mm is more than enough for our power levels.
