Matti85
I am unable to close the hood now, all i did was replace the interior dash board from passenger side to driver side, so i took all out long job, but its done now. Thing is i cant close the bonnet anymore, the two clamps that should hold the two rings on the hood does not close up. And i dont know what to look for, the pull switch (to open the hood) seems right fitted and all, but there is no resistance to it, its all soft, like the wire is cut somewhere. Any ideas ? Ewen
More likely the cables trapped ?
Homer
As Ewen said, the cable could have got trapped (or snapped). My money would be on the cable not being fully connected to the latch inside. If you get down in the footwell, you should see the cable come in through a yellow grommet, make sure thats connected up to the lever.
Matti85
I have now checked the wire and fallowed it all the way from the drivers side to the engine bay clamps. When my friend pulls the switch i can see both wires inside each clamp move (if they were closed they would now open) But thing is when i shut the bonnet down it does not close, when i take these clamps out and dissmount the wire from them then i sometimes manage to close them by using a screwdriver to act as the hoods o rings. Will give the car to a mechanic, this thing i can not solve, ive tryed whole day now, wire is fine all the way, no jaming or anything and its not cut as i first thought, when i manage to close the clamos with a screwdriver i reopen them with the pull switch from the drivers footwell so wire is fine, thats what gets me crazy. Here it is one of them removed
merckx
I had the same problem , in the end I just pushed the bonnet down harder and it clicked down . Watch you don't dent it though. I checked the operation of the catches with a screwdriver too. There's also a couple of rubber stops located at each side, you can adjust these to sit a little lower if necessary.
