Dr_Doom
Have you pluged the wire back into the Air filter sensor? The one near the air box?... I left mine unplugged once and it did this..
Dr_Doom
though if it's really missing then one of the plug leads might not be connected properly.. I'm guessing you took them off to change the cam cover. Are you sure you put them back on in the right order?
PAG
Sounds like an ignition prob to me check all your leads etc make sure everything you took off went back on properly.I wouldnt worry about it to much sure its nothing serious.
kieren1234
Thanks for the help. The plugs are fine and leads are connected fine aswell, and the air filter sensor is plugged in. EVERY thing as far as i can see is back just the way it come off.
SatSport
did you disconnect any of the water hoses? Water near the plugs will do this.
Dr_Doom
I agree, wouldn't think it's anything serious. If it was working before then it's obviously something to do with changing the cam cover. Have you fitted the cam breather pipes properly? Can you hear any hissing (vacuum leaks?).. Oh & you didn't dismantle the throttle body did you? Are you sure you've not got a couple of leads the wrong way round? Did you label them when you took them off?
Dr_Doom
did you disconnect any of the water hoses? Water near the plugs will do this. Good point, there isn't coolant leaking from the throttle body into the plug holes is there?.. You should be able to see/feel if there is... JODY T
Hmmm... Did you use new gaskets when you refitted it? May have an air leak....
Matt _Aero top_
funny one this i changed my plugs the other day on my N/A and that started to miss , but once it warmed up it went away and has been fine ever since , But my guess is you got a plug lead on the wrong way or you didn't push it on properly at the sparkplug end , did you take the dizzy cap off ? kieren1234
thanks guys. Have just checked everything and the spark plugs were piss wet through, so dried them all out, took them out and cleaned them but the car wont even idle, its just cuts out and sounds aweful when revving it, took it for a little drive and it just seem buggered to me, i dont know what to do because i have no money to get someone to have a look at it and no idea whats wrong!!. DannyW
damp still in the leads/electrics..... wouldn`t worry it`ll dry out ok. get some wd40 on the plugs and the ends of the leads.
Tricky-Ricky
Sounds like a vacuum leak to me, possibly the fuel pressure regulator, have you checked for any splits in the pipes? or forgotten to reconnect one?
Dr_Doom
Similar thing happened to mine after a bad power washing incident... I had to take all the spark plugs out, then use rolled up kitchen roll to shove down the holes to soak up all the water. It took ages but it was the only way i could dry them out. WD40 alone wouldn't work & i'd tried leaving it for ages but it just wouln't dry out on its own...

kieren1234
Hi all, thanks again. It ended up to be a combination of wet plugs and leads, and the vaccum hose that goes into the inlet manifold on the right section, the nipple had snapped off it so the hose was not connected up. Went and got a few bits off my spare engine in the garage and it is even better than before now, also the inlet manifold had a crack in it so replaced this with a spare one. Top advise guys, very very much appreciated.
