Jake
What have you done now Rosie? Ian C did a great article on changing rear wheel studs. It's much the same for the front. How To: Replace a rear wheel stud
Supragal
Jake... well... not sure. Went to Micheldever, you're not allowed to watch (probably didn't help that I shouted at 2 of them...) so all I know is they called us out to say there was a problem, they couldn't get a nut off, id did eventually but the stud and nut are mangled. They've only ever been put on by hand so I have no idea how.
toyotasuprauk
I hate places that dont let you watch what they are doing to your car, I mean what are they trying to hide?
Supragal
"safety" or something. All I could hear was alarm going off over and over and over.
Jake
Oooo that's not good. They're usually very good at Micheldever. You aren't the luckiest person in the world, are you! Still, should be easy enough to sort out.
Supragal
Jake, TBH it was a bit of a let down all round. I was told they were good with low/modified etc cars and there were plenty of nice cars there, TVRs, M5, Caterham 7 so it looked like it was going to be ok. First bloke came round to the queue and gave it all the talk, went over and above, very helpful. Got into the bay and the first thing the grease monkey does is put his hand through my open window and grabbed my door card with his filthy greasy gloved hand. MASSIVE black marks on the alcantara. I may have shouted at him. THEN they get it jacked up and he drops the locking wheel nut under the lifty things and we have to move the car to find it... which as I'm sure you can imagine isn't easy as they are 3 deep both ways Then a different monkey goes to roll the car by grabbing the kit, he may have got a bollocking too, then the bolt incident. Oh, and there is a lump out of my perfect alloys now, probably when they dropped the locking wheel nut adaptor onto the edge of the rim, but I can't prove it.
