[LOST] End of Season 3 discussion (Spoilers within, obviously)

So now Lost has finished Season Three. There were plenty of suprises and strange goings-on it the final two parts but the biggest one is at the end where the Jack we had presumed was in flash-back was revealed to actually be in the future (i.e after they had left the island)

So what's that about then?

Why does Jack so desperately want to go back to the island?

Why isn't Kate in prison?

Why did Jack refer to his father as if he was still alive?

Who is in that coffin?

Who is in that coffin?

1) As ben said, he has nothing to go back too, no wife, no father etc its better for him on the island.

2) After the storys told, they will be celebs or whatnot and maybe pardon'd saying that, the only person who seemed to care about catching her was the marshall and hes dead. Or she gave fake names when found.

3) He was drugged up, or using it in a sarcastic way that he cant go and just ask him, unless the island brings him to life, as seen in the pilot ep's jacks dad was walking around

4) If you search you can see high res stills of the newspaper cuttings, it appears to say sombody hung themself, you can only see 2 letters of the name, JO, so possiblly john locke, as he had nothing back home either

I love lost theorizing :D

So it looks like Ben was telling yet another lie when he said about everyone being killed if the ship found them.

But if the ship isn't Penny's like the heli girl said - who is it? Judging by the Jack "flashforward" they weren't killed...

Too many questions (again). The only important one is:

WHEN DOES S4 START???????

Blimey! loads of goings on there

i think something major is about to happen on the island when this boat comes, the flash forward could be Jack and Kate who escaped but at the price of leaving everyone else there and in danger, maybe at the time they thought they were doing the right thing by leaving as they could bring help but the thing that could be cutting Jack up is the fact that he can't get back there to save them as he doesn't know how to find the island again(when he says he keeps flying as he wants to crash and go back there)

oh and Hurley rocks

what a twist! i was stunned when it hit me that it was a flashforward... i think the next season would be set in the present and flashbacks would be all to do with the island.

as for jacks dad - that's a very weird one - jack refers to him in present tense when talking to the pharma and doctor dude... question is - why would christian be walking around leading a "post island" life?

charlie's "death" is quite tragic - he kind of grew on me (err... :blink) ...

Hurley kicked ass!!! :D

Kate referring to " i think he'll be wondering where i'm gone" could well be a reference to sawyer...

and i think the funeral could be ben... i.e. no family or friends off the island - ultimatley, i think we'll see jack transform into ben when the show is over (bitter, manipulative and controlling)

I dont think the guy in the coffin is ben, see the news paper clip picture ^^ the name starts with Jo

If the show starts the 4th series with them off the island and all flashbacks of the island that would ruin it for me :( TBH i sorta didnt like the flashforward cus now you know they got off the island :(

kate refering to sawyer is plausable i think :)

TBH i dont think charlie is gone just yet, but probably

Well, we only know Jack and Kate made it off the island at some point. It could be two years later for all we know. And everyone else might still be there

its 3 years later, judging by the date on the newspaper, that link colsoop posted pretty much shows everything we could have missed in the ep :)

Its all thory, but if its all futureflashes or whatnot its gonna ruin it imo :(

I need to see these, gf's gone off it and keeps wanting to watch Heroes, so we're up to ep22 now of that but still on 18 of Lost!! I said I'd start watching them on my own and she complained!! :(

My friend, i have seen the beauty of the island - jacob demands you dump your girlfriend - she is one of the "bad" people :p

Just watched it. Gutted. What a crap ending and quite predictable. :(

I'd got that it was a flash forward in the first part (don't ask me why, it was just a gut feeling) on the plane when it shook, although the reference to his dad upstairs did make me doubt it for a second. Even expected Kate at the end.

No surprise they didn't kill the three on the beach either.

Also no surprise that Charly did actually die - although that could SO have been avoided... you mean to tell me the door wouldn't shut from the other side? Crap.

Ivan wasn't dead - big surprise.

Still nothing more about the weird darkness - although I suspect voodoo magic after the episode where the walked over a ring of sand type stuff before getting to the hut.

What about the polar bear eh?

Why was Walt back? (who I believe his mind created the polar bear as it was in a comic)

Why was Penny on the screen - the first person to contact? There's much more to Desmond than we know.

Feel totally deflated now.

:yeahthat: and also why would it matter about the water coming in?? that place is huge and it would take ages to fill up, and Desmond just got diving gear

Yes but Charlie knew he HAD TO die. Otherwise Claire and Aaron wouldn't be getting on that helicopter.

Mind you, I've got a chopper here that Claire is welcome to climb on to.

They've proved time after time that saving Charlie didn't stop the good things from happening though.

I just think Charlie decided drowning was preferable to sticking around for another 24 hours of not having a clue what's happening and doing random things for the sake of ratings.

Oh...and you can pass Claire over here when you're done. ;)

Remind me?

There's the arrow in the neck one but didn't that bring Naomi rather than Penny after Des deviated from the premonition?
