Ian C
Salt water rinse morning, midday, and night, and neck some ibuprofen. That can help deal with the pain and infection. NHS dentist cocked up my root canal, I had to go private to get it sorted. Cost a lot but MY GOD is the service, equipment, ability, attitude etc etc better! -Ian

I actually drifted off twice during the remedial work on the root canal I was properly numbed up and had this latex dental dam thang going on that isolated my tooth so she could work on it! AndrewOW
Yeah well if it is that bad you should go to A&E, and I'm sure they'll see you quickly and it'll get fixed, but whatever you're taking now sounds like its working
Soop Dogg
If you have an urgent problem to do with your health, why do you have to book time off work? Just tell them you can't work as you are and take the emergency appointment you told us about early on in the thread. Then you'll be better almost straight away and you'll be able to work at your full capacity sooner.

Plus it hurts, like all the time, but it's nowhere near as bad as a tooth can be I'm sure of it.
