cookci
Which cat do i need to put back on? the one nearer the engine of nearer the rear?
_Rob_
I believe either will do it. The one nearer the rear (2nd cat) is easier to change. Your decat pipe will need to be in two sections though.
LuxobargeTT
Go to your MOT testing station, ask them to put your car details into their database, and that will tell them wether it requires the stricter cat test or not. All depends on wether VOSA has the correct engine data for the import MK4, as they can't use the UK data, as the import has no EGR. If you need the stricter test, then either cat should do, but it's easier to change the bigger one (rear)
flukey-lukey
Had mine MOT'd last weekend with no cats in and the tester said that the computer thing told him my car didn't need them to pass the emissions Something about only needing a 2 gas test??? He would have passed it even if the computer told him it did need cats tbh lol
JODY T
As Luxo said, Some Supras do not need a cat, when its put into the VOSA database... For instance my car is a 95 NA, I have a bit of paper in the car from VOSA saying no cat required! it has one but i dont need it to pass the MOT! Result ide say... Get your codes checked

Graham S
I'm a tester, All N/A's don't need cats as the 2JZ-GE engine is not on he database as it was never made in the UK, but all TT's wether JAP or UK need a cat as they both have the GTE engine code.. To be honest, there is nothing in the manual saying that you NEED cats, its just a case that it won't go through the 0.2/0.3 CO emissions limits. Hope that helps.. hoff
So if i just take out my 2nd cat there is a good chance of passing?
cookci
so mine will pass then without a CAT? lol
rovervi
think what Graham S is syaing it will pass with no Cats in UNLESS the emissions when tested are greater than 0.

AndrewOW
So, what difference will it make to power on an n/a with no cats>?? Not a lot if I remember right. Its something to do with required back pressure on an N/A. Take them out if you want to scare the neighbourhood though!
