RedSZ
Have lovely SZ-R and am happy with the 16"wheels:eek: I am aware this is sacrilege and I should have 18" or at least 17" but hey I am a muppet:p I am v. stupid and cannot get my head around tyre sizes. Currently car has 245/50 Potenzas at rear and same 225/50 at front. It is v.difficult to find any make of tyres in same size. Question is: What alternative size of tyre can I safelyuse at the rear eg 295/30 etc etc etc Ideally I would like to replace with F1's. New underpants have been frequently needed in recent rain. Help:)
Grazer
IIRC 16s are the best choice for handling. Most folk just go for bigger rims for purely cosmetic reasons. I think. Someone who knows something about anything should be along to answer your sizes question. I had a quick look on ebay but couldn't see any F1s for 16" rim? RedSZ
Cheers Grazer. You have cheered me up no end I I secretly knew that my small wheels were a reflection of my superior handling skills:p
merckx
Here's a list of the Goodyear F1 sizes. You would have to know the width of the wheel to determine what width tyre you could use. Sizes
Amazing grace
Red this week I had to replace both my front tyres due to baldness!! Watlins Tyres had to order my Eagle F1's in but they got them next day and reasonable priced as well £110 each inc VAT and fitting. These tyres are about but I have now had a complete set all round and they always have to be ordered in. Hope this cheers you up:) Regards, Sheena:)
dangerous brain
Well I used to shoe my 16's with exactly the rubber you have currently. I can speak to my mate at my local tyre place and ask him about the sizes and price you up some F1's if you want. The bridgestones you have are about on a par gripwise in the wet btw. You may be experiencing problems with them because they are close to fully worn and grip does tail off on worn tyres.
stt
Right,When i bought my car it had the 16 inch wheels with 245's on the rear, and realy didnt give anything with regards to grip so 12 hours later i bought a set of 18 inch lenzo's im running 265/35 rear and have gone from 235/40 to 255/35 on the front and the turning in of the car is seriously good,For a full set of Goody F1's ive forked out pence short of £600 which was the bargain of the century thanks to a friend of mine,If there is any wholesalers near you ring them tell them your from ats up the road and that you will pick them up and pay over the counter hopefully this should save the wallet a little
