garethr
As it looks -- "rib" followed by "and" (although it's more like "rib" followed by "und" ) Google dictionary riband, you should find some online dictionaries which give the pronunciation. You guys need to get out more. Although I was thinking the same as gaz, it sounds more like rib-und as its a soft 'a' sh*t. I need to get out more. My choice would be 'rocky' bars though. GeordieSteve
It's official guys... from the horses mouth: ----------------------------------------------- Dear Mr Parnell Thank you for your recent enquiry via email concerning Blue Riband. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to your enquiry. It would be pedantic and wrong to say that it meets one pronunciation to the exclusion of the other. Mike
You should have asked him about all that baby milk he sells in Africa... bastards... For the record, I'm with Edd on this one... I thought it actually was Ribbon? but then I'm not common enough to eat said confectionery... I'm much more of a sophisticated 'caramel Rocky' type person
Charlotte
I thought it was pronounced ribbon too. Is it named after something? edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Riband - maybe this?
juanchan
One more on the "Ribbon" bandwagon here
