R3DG3CKO ROB
I'd really love to do a free fall but the idea scares the sh*t out of me... hence why I've got to do it If anyone fancies organizing something that doesn't break the bank, I'll be up for it
razza
did the first training weekend with static jumps, was up for going the full hog but then time got taken up with other things, wouldn't mind trying it again though

Kim1978
I'm a jumper...but not that active anymore...bloody expensive here in Germany. About 4 times more expensive per jump But it is blast when you are going down and I am always as scared as I was during my first jump

ChrisSZ
Your quite a big guy Chris i don't imagine they would have hauled you out with a lot of kit, you probably carried a ration pack in your burgen I bloody wish:( I used to get stuck with the GPMG or (if I'd been a real naughty boy) the Charlie G - it was one of the reasons I decided that sneaking about with just a rifle playing Davey Crockett was a much more sensible option - less ammo to carry (and therefore land with) :d Did loading trials once - full combat lad (as per the pussers manual) was way over 300lb - physically impossible to load everything let alone carry it. Fargo
Used to, many years ago. Gave up after my instructor had an accident. Edit - Is that a BN Islander in your avatar Fargo? not sure, but we call it a skyvan. like a mini hurcules.. No,but im interested and would like to learn. Can you give me any info? to get your license you need to do the AFF course (accelarated freefall) course is 8 jumps with instructors who jump with you (you will have your own chute from the off, no tandem jumps) cost is approx £1400 ona pay as you go basis ie £300 quid jump 1, another £200/300 nexy jump and so on, once thats done you need to do 10 consolodation jumps (by yourself, instructor is only in the plane looking out for you) at £30 a jump (includes all equipment) A Supra skydiving meet sounds good to me! im not qualified to do tandem but can organise something with the skydive club, usual cost is approx £200 which if you do it for charity you could take the cost back (unless you raise £201 of course) may get some discount for quantity of guys wanting to jump. ChrisSZ
.....although the guys in the Falklands when the Argies arrived (NP8901) threw half a dozen rounds at a little Argie corvette (boat) - if all six shots had actually gone off the bugger would have joined the Argie Air Force - as it was only two rounds actually went off - one on the bow and one on the fantail as they buggered off (ambushed them in a small cove) :)
