What I need to know is there is an in and out labels on the plate where the pipes go which 1 goes to the filter end which to the cooler or does it not matter because it runs in a circuit. SimonB Posted May 21, 2007 Share Posted May 21, 2007 It does matter, the filter works best on hot oil, so you want it to go take off -> filter -> cooler -> take off. Well, actually you really want a oil thermostat in there too, so ideally it should be take off -> filter -> thermostat -> cooler -> thermostat -> take off. The oil flows through the outside and back up the center, so you can see on the take off which is the outside (the feed) and the center (the return).
