Millsy
There seem to be a lot of replica kits about nowadays. What are peoples opinions on them? Anybody bought one that fitted perfectly? Or is it better paying the extra money for the genuine article?
turbonut
I was going to buy a replica DoLuck front bumper until I saw how thin and flimsy it was. I've no idea if it would have fitted as I was too horrified to buy it One tap (or a sneeze) would have cracked the thing. The originals are expensive and if your getting them from America you have to pay freight as well. I was recently quoted $640 for shipping and a further $120 for delivery to the door! This was on top of the $1,050 for the bumper itself The exchange rate is quite good at the moment though. I would imagine the quality is better with the original, or so I would like to think, but would be interested to hear if that is the case. dibbleyuk
In the long run you dont save much if anything by buying replicas because imo they take alot more prep work to get them perfect. I always buy second hand, that way the hard work has been done and normaly just need a respray
dwayne
i bought top secret sides and spat replicas from an ebay shop which werent even close to fitting properly hence i didnt use them and i have bought 2 top secret front bumper replicas that took me 2 full days of prep work to smooth and fill out the rough fibreglass work but they didnt fit the car too badly but in my experience if you can afford original kits buy them

DamanC
Replica kits are fine provided the sellers says they are bolt on. That way they are garenteed to fit, if they dont it goes back to the seller under false advertising and a full refund is given.
