DannoSupra
as above... :search: need to know if the shaft inside the diff needs to be inside the diff before putting box and diff back on, or car it be knocked back in from the side, like and EVO cheers
SBDJ
Yes I have, and it's not a job I want to undertake again I'm not sure which shaft you are referring to tho; I reattached the box and diff as one, leaving the output shaft for the prop shaft off until fitted. Was a complete bugger to refit thought, spent ages trying, went away and left it for a bit, came back and it slotted straight in...
DannoSupra
Right, i'll have to drop the box off again then, it was a blag getting it off with transfer box in place, what a dumb idea. most Transverse 4WD cars are built so you can remove the t'box before having to remove the gearbox, ah well.... How heavy is the box.. jesus christ man, nearly sh*t myself... ah the strain!
SBDJ
To be honest, I'd not tried it leaving the transfer in place, it may well be possible. Yes, the box is f'ing heavy - especially with the diff attached as well! It's definately one of those jobs that most garages will charge much more for second time around
