miko_supra
if its the noise of the actual gear being selected, then i do believe that is a common noise and nothing to worry about. hope that helps

Mike
The 'clonking' sound is quite common in Supras... mine clonks when I come to a stop on certain side sloping roundabouts.. I had the shocks replaced (well, not solely because of this!), subframe torque tightened (this is the most common cause), but still with the clonking... not loud, but just noticeable. If you suspension set up is solid, check your sub frame... and then forget about it
Mike
Have a look here for the subframe settings. (Also a plug for one of CJ's manuals at the end of the thread.. I recommend)
RedM
I have this. It's worn bushes on the upper rear suspension arm.
