Alan999
Its all a big media thing again! If they had not gone to such lengths and made such big news of his training and him going it would not have been a problem. Everyone else has to live with that fact that they get sent over there and if this sniper thats out there sees any of them they are just as likley to be kill as he would be if he went. Its a joke, he went in the army he should be sent its his job!
michael
Erm no to be honest, as the decision has now been made. Chalk and cheese. Scared to post your original reply? It's a mirror image of my thread, it's basically a What decision has been made? Where is the cheese? Face facts, you lack ideas, you had to steal another thread concept to win friends, basically you suck.

paul_y3k
Him and his whole family are inbred yokels. IMO they add nothing to this country apart from a large bill to the taxpayers and plenty of copy for the toilet rag newspapers. Waste of space, the lot of 'em. Not a royalist at all but cmon. They amount of revenue the generate for the UK is amazing, both directly and indirectly. A few years ago, Britian and the US were competing for a massive billon dollar steel contract with some other countries goverment- real money into uk familys if we got it. The tenders were pretty even, so the respective uk / us govenments got involved to try and top the balance. The US set a trade ambassodor, we sent the queen. it works and lots of people still have jobs because of the one country. also in-direct how much money does london generate through tourists and the the royal family connection ? I think you would have to be a bit naive to assume that the reason the UK got the contract was because they sent some old bag in a bad dress. I would guess that the reason was a financial one and not one made because they like old blue blood.

Agreed, just the tourism side alone is worth billions to this country. Gaz.
Gamer
People would still come, they are just a side show. A big one, but that is how they would want it otherwise they would be worthless to the country. So basically they are just a tourist attraction. Freak show if you may....

Sharpie
He joined the army so he was a squaddy. Why one squaddy is to be treated differently from another is beyond me. Bang on! He should go but, the press should stay out of it. Andrew went to the Falklands War aboard HMS Invincible.

Shadow Beast
I think he should bloody go!!!!!! My husband has been to Iraq twice now and has put his life on the line and has lost a couple of mates. There is no point in Prince Harry being in the army if he is not going to go on operational tours like the other lads. Other peoples husbands, boyfriends, sons are being sent to a war that no one believes in and we are no longer fighting for king and country - we should not be out there!!!!!! If Harry is not going to experience proper army life he should not be in!!! Thats my view anyway.
Sheefa
More money spent training a solider who can't go to war. Feck it, I won't pay mt taxes then! I have ultimate respect for Harry saying he did want to go - he was genuine too. It's a piss take. And if that Reg Keys doesn't shut up - I'll hit him! He only lives down the road from me. dangerous brain
OK OK lets put this in context. Over the centuries wars have been fought. What has stood one side out from another is their sheer bloody mindedness. In years gone by the royals went up the front and lead us mere mortals as thats how stuff is done. OK lots of the royal buggers died, but hell so did lots of us mortals. SOme of these royal buggers only lasted a couple of months cos thats how life is. But their lives were a million times better than any ole yokel could ever hope for in 100 years of life. My take on the matter is this. Send the guy if he truely wants to go. Only send with him troops that volunteer to go under his command. I will guarantee you the survivors will generate more national pride than has been generated in decades. War is about losses and if you start a war accept there will be losses. For me a loss is a loss and wether they are royal or not doesn't count for sh*t. Let him go with volunteers, if no-one volunteers to go with him let him stay at home. Let his men decide not some faceless politician.
