jamesmark
It has been confirmed as you all probably know that Prince Harry is not being sent to Iraq Link. Following on from Michael's thread, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=108530 Is it still right or wrong to send him? What are you're views? Should he have been given the chance to serve his country or were the risks to great? Is the Army saying that there is a real threat so that they do not need to send him? Ric
it would be wrong i think to send such a big target with all his team around him facing increased thread because of harrys status, as that bloke said, hes not willing to put their familys through it, which is fair enough. I suppose there are valid arguments for and against tho
Jake
It's right that he hasn't been allowed to go, but only because I couldn't stand the months of media fuss if the twat got hurt or preferably killed. Personally I couldn't care less whether he went or not.
jamesmark
hes not willing to put their familys through it, which is fair enough. That is a good point, I have wondered when this would come up about realising the risks to others. Personally I hope Harry does not do what he said he would do and quit the Army, there is so much more than Iraq however with the way these terrorist cells work, is anywhere safe? is Harry destined for a desk job? Rob
Agree with the idea that his troops and all the other soldiers out there would be exposed to a much higher risk if he went. He's not actually related to anyone in the bloodline though is he, well, half brother to Wills I suppose.

RedM
Surely, if he did go, he'd be protected by magic and Hagrid.

ivan
Personally it doesn't matter to me whether he goes or not, or gets shot or not. Other than the fact that it's never nice to hear of anyone getting shot that is. He's just this guy, you know? But I definitely wouldn't have wanted to be in his Troop (or Squadron for that matter) if he had gone. Talk about red rag to a bull!

jamesmark
Mike I think he means the whole thing about Diana having a relationship with that Hewitt guy (if thats his name) as they think he is the father to Harry. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2273498.stm
Angarak
I think the whole army thing has been a PR stunt. Lets face it, he was thick as pig sh*t at school and was going to end up a 'bum' royal who lives off the tax payer. Can't imagine a royal stacking the shelves at Asda can you? He joined the army knowing full well he wouldnt be sent to war. Ditto to the 'red flag to a bull' comment above though if he did - which he never will. Wez
If the press wasnt such a pain in the @rse and stopped poking around where they shouldnt it would not have been an issue. Just about everyone in the world knew where he was going and what vehicals he would be in etc. I think they made the right decision, not for him personally but for his whole brigade, he is too much of a target. Pot
I agree with the descision, if I send the commando out in C&C3, with a squad of Zone Troopers, although the commando's of higher skill (Which Ginge isn't), the ZT's will get battered more than if I seperate them and attack from different flanks... From that tactical analysis, I agree with the MOD's descision...

Rob
Don't laugh, that's how that actually do it in the MOD.
Gamer
Him and his whole family are inbred yokels. IMO they add nothing to this country apart from a large bill to the taxpayers and plenty of copy for the toilet rag newspapers. Waste of space, the lot of 'em. Robbo
It's right that he has not gone out to Iraq. It would have been really unfair on the other troops if he went out (speaking as an ex squaddies g/f). They have done the right thing IMO

AJI
He joined the army so he was a squaddy. Why one squaddy is to be treated differently from another is beyond me. If his life is really all that precious then he should be kept indoors and pampered at the cost of the tax payer like a nice little spoilt brat royal that he is !
