Guest Thunderball
Britballrun is back, Britballrun is an annual car event/experience with a difference, it’s held throughout Britain, over the three day August Bank Holiday weekend. Past events have attracted interest from a wide variety of Characters and Cars and helped raise large amounts of cash for various Charities. The cost of entry is £350 per person with a minimum of 2 people per vehicle. Fancy taking part in the 2007 event, then contact Britballrun via [email protected] and ask for an application pack. Millsy
Mate, what's the legal argument for these type of events? Just curious - is it just a matter of saying it is only a car rally where cars are expected to drive within the speed limits?
Pig
I would like to do something like this. Only trouble is, it dont want to do it with a load of slow cars.

Jake
Is it to raise money for charity though? How much of the £700 per car entance fee goes to charity? How much did last year's event raise?

Its to raise money for charity and have a good time. not to race, get arrested and crash maybe im getting the wrong end of the stick. It seems to me that there are a few goals and the idea is to get there the quickest, missing traffic etc! It maybe for charity but im trying to decide if it will be filled with saxo's or some cars that are actually fun to have a hoon with and look at. Guigsy
if the aim was to get there the quickest... it would be a racem therefor illegal?
Pig
if the aim was to get there the quickest... it would be a racem therefor illegal? "The emphasis is on team work, the skill of navigation, forward planning and quick decision making (and luck depending upon route taken and traffic volume)." This gives me the impression that the idea is to get to the goal first.

Pot
I believe they're doing it as a navigation skill sort of thing, as you'll get penalised for turning up too quickly... Wasn't this the event that got cancelled a couple of years ago as they needed agreements off all of the Chief Constables for the areas the routes would go through, and then West Mercia backed out at the last minute, although they'd provisionally given the go ahead?... I was set up to enter for it, but then read it was cancelled... Was gutted... Bit soon for me to enter this one, maybe next year
