FFS!

So more threats of violence against members of the club and not even a glimmer of moderation in his direction. No visible moderation to set an example to others anyway...

Shut it you, or i'll talk to you about it face to face at TOTB :p

you really are a spoon.

I reported his first batch of threats, I received a PM in response, there was no visible chastising to set an example to others and no blanket message sent out to clarify what is and isn't tolerated here.

I've just seen the last one, I've been aware of it for 10 minutes more than you have it seems.

So that makes me a "spoon" does it? I'm a spoon because other forum members haven't reported something and none of the moderation team spotted a member threatening to harm other members at a major event, sounds like a fair assumption, I agree with you.

The "threat" was directed at me. I didn't report it, because although there was a hint of threat in there, he was only basically suggesting that we have a discussion in person. The threat against RedM in the previous thread was more direct, and didn't result in a ban so I saw no reason why any action would have been taken this time.

Regardless of that - I still think this thread is unnecessary.

yes it does, because you are saying nothing is being done about it. Take a look at the thread above this one..the person that was threatened didnt even want to report it to the mods. But YOU obviously think you should be moderating a forum...

Nothing *visible* is being done about it and it doesn't say "banned" under his name. I'm not privy to things behind the scenes.

"Okay, lets hear your 'stupid moments' !!!" at present, that could change though. A fun read all the same.

That's his choice, that doesn't mean others feel comfortable with threats being thrown around, should members of the club fear for their safety at events?

But YOU obviously think you should be moderating a forum...

Not at all.

I'm going to go away now and opt out of this thread, we all know that it's not wise to disagree with you.

I don't think that's particularly fair Mike, the mods tend to try and leave it to us to get along and sort things out, with the CG thing, I think people just need a quiet word, inc the antagonisers, like the thread starter.

You can all ignore CG if you want, you can all decide not to rise to anyone being a cock, you can report things to the moderators too. I've done it and usually got some satisfaction in the result (though admittedly I've had to prod for a response).

I don't get your decision to attack JB, it just seems counter productive and childish.

Perhaps it's unfair of me, if anyone thinks that's the case I apologise but I've been on the receiving end of a situation like this in the past. A tech debate got heated on a forum and at the next major meet I found myself being hunted by a pack of mates who wanted to "duff me up" for daring to have a contrasting opinion on something. They backed down fairly quickly but watching your back constantly ruins a fun day out.

A valid and sensible approach and something that some of us should have done earlier, I'm someone who likes to enter into conversation with people like this though, I like to understand their mentality. I just wish the ignore button worked outside the forum.

I didn't attack JB, he's the one doing the name calling here, I simply expressed my concern at the apparent lack of action when a rogue member is hell-bent on picking a fight at TOTB.

I may have put up a counter attack afterwards, I'll probably live to regret that.

nobody should be in a situation where they are scared to turn up at a meet, either to face verbal or physical violence. That wont be accepted.

We all know things on a forum can get heated so we give people the benefit of the doubt, perhaps too much some times.

The CG situation will be looked in to fully. Any posts goading him will also be looked at.
