Race batteries & stereos

Whilst I was hoping to move my battery to the boot, it would seem I need to change to a sealed battery - the two options being the smaller, lighter race batteries such as the ones Chris Wilson sells, or one of the big, heavy, over-priced Optima batteries.

Ideally, I'd like to go for the first option, but how will this affect my in-car entertainment (limited though it is)?

I only run a basic HU and CD-changer with un-amped speakers; I'm thinking of putting a fairly low-power sub and amp in there at a later date. Would one of the race batteries be able to cope with that amount of drain?

to be honest save your money as you wont need another battery if you are only running a low powered sub/amp. ive had some serious high powered audio running on standard supra batteries and that was fine. (halfords hbc005 or even better the calcium ones) about 35 or 55 quid.

It's more the case of wanting a battery in the boot / rear of the car. I daren't put one of the Halfords batteries in due to reading about hydrogen leaks on here. Ideally, I'd like something smaller and lighter at the same time, but I'm just wondering exactly what kind of equipment the race batteries could put up with. If it's a case of not having a sub then I'm not too bothered, as I barely listen to the stereo as it is :)

I'll be running usual electronics aem ems e.t.c,no ice, defi gauges, boost controller, and electric fans

What would be fine for this setup?

Is it better to upgrade to a Bigger Amp Hour Alternator

What weight are these batteries?

I have a sealed red top just now...it weighs a tonne!

Are Red Top 30 or 40 smaller
