Sumo Power
I didnt see it but about 6/7 years ago we arranged the freight of an intelligent Lexus ( LS400 ) that could drive itself, ie you sit back and tell it where to take you. It knew how close to drive to other cars, how fast to go, when to turn etc etc. It was never produced as it was a proto but interesting all the same, maybe similar technology in this one, will keep an eye out for a repeat. Gaz Walker
Which model was that Martin? I posted about the new LS460 a while back and it could do that, and a hell of a lot more. Its been done in the states for several years now though so not hugely special but cool in the UK. Gaz.
merckx
Yep, it was very clever. It parked itself in the gap between two cars parked at the side of the road by reversing in just like you would yourself. The only thing on the programme worth watching!
RedM
The million dollar question is would you trust a gizmo to park your Supra like that?
JamieP
Wayney could do with one of them:D
ivan
It parked itself in the gap between two cars parked at the side of the road by reversing in just like you would yourself. But without all the shuttling backwards and forwards.
Konrad
I think I've seen Mercedes doing same parking thing... Or was it BMW It's not new idea tho About intelligent, self-driving cars, I think it was yanks, who tested it some time ago but they said, that this will need tons of work to do properly - sensors all over the car and streets etc.
edd_t
Yeh, i knew it. The Prius has had it for ages. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3198619.stm
AndyT
The million dollar question is would you trust a gizmo to park your Supra like that? Gotta be better than me, I suck at reversing. Forward fast, is the way ahead..

Mike M
Yeah I seen that a wee while back, just drive alongside the space like your about to reverse park - push a button and it does everything else. Very smart I really like these new Lexus models and they look good in white for some reason.
