Guest Martin F
They are so well made those Nur-specs. Justin, you see that little bolt in the end of the exhaust, if you undo that and place your hand inside the exhaust you will be able to remove the 'Friendly Neighbour' device. Then you can go set off some car alarms.

Doughie
Yeah Martin's right. You bolt on the NUR spec and after the stock Toyota exhaust you think "wow that's loud ! and burbly ! and great !!". then you unscrew the little screw, and take out the baffle and then go for the drive and then you think : "Fukc me, i'm a bleeding NASCAR driver". With the baffle out, at 3000rpm and over, full throttle, the NUR spec sounds just demonic. fabulous.

Justin
You guys crack me up I can indeed see that cheeky little screw. I'll be honest, I didn't realise it was so simple to gt the baffle out. Guess what I'll be doing as soon as I get home I've aslo just fitted new speakers for my stereo to sound better but I haven't even turned it on since fitting the Blitzy. I'm just driving with the window down/roof off today listening to that sweet rumble with a cheesy grin.
Barry
Before I took delivery of my Sup I twisted JB's arm to remove the baffle. He did, and its sounded mental, so guess what...... Ain't no way its going back in again.!!!! The look on people's faces as I give a quick blat on the throttle is priceless....

MONKEYmark
when i got mine fitted he fitted it with the baffle in place.it did not take long to fit and he drove out of workshop and i thought has he fitted it? and he drove it down to me and give me the keys.o had a look and i was gutted it was as quiet as stock i had a face as long as your arm on drive home i thought wheres the sound i parked up in garden and shut car off and thought i would look at it.then i thought i would take baffle out.so i did then i crossed my fingers hoping it would sound better.i did a remote start and it fired up fook me that first sound was so sweet a nice deep rumble and i was happy as larry give it a few blips of gas and had to go for a blast through some tunnels been smiling ever since have fun with you good choice of exhaust and think what toyota would charge you for a stock exhaust and smile some more knowing you got a bargain with the blitz ps does anyone know what a stock j spec or uk supra tt exhaust with both cats would cost? would like to know how good will it sound with cams and no cats

Wez
I am looking to replace the exhaust system on a J-Spec TT6, I have heard that the nur spec has bad ground clearance and been told that the best one to go for is a HKS front cat removal and a HKS super drager. I like what you guys are saying about the nur spec, have any of you had problem with ground clearance?
Justin
Wez, What system anyone gets is all down to personal preference really mate. I have had no problems with ground clearance at all. There is a picture of mine after I fitted it on page 2 before this page. I would say that the 2 parallel stock silencers were closer to the ground than the blitz. The only thing I would say id that the bumper might be a bit close to the top of the rear pipe and could cause vibrations but I'm sure that could be easily sorted out. I hope this helps. Cheers:D
Branners
The Blitz does have some ground clearance issues due to the centre box being right in the middle of the car. If you have lowered your car you might just hit that centre box on ramps. I had real problems with ravioli speed bumps, so much so that theres a road in Borehamwood I couldnt go down as the exhaust would hit every single bump. But mostly if you go slowly over the bumps then its fine. The HKS Super Drager has a very large rear silencer which has also been known to hit as you come down off a ramp. THe only exhaust I know for sure that doesnt have grounding problems is the HKS Dual Drager and thats because it follows the route of the stock exhaust exactly. Barry
Thats sounds like a dam good excuse to remove the centre box to me.!!
Wez
I agree, is it not possible to run a straight through upto the back box What is the centre box used for?

Branners
Originally posted by Wez I agree, is it not possible to run a straight through upto the back box What is the centre box used for? It is. We complained to Racelogic that the nurspec wasnt designed for UK roads and that if Blitz Japan could design a better one then they would sell loads. Blitz went off and did a new design, shipped it over and stuck it on Pete McKinleys car, Pete then sold his car to Martin F, hence the smiley.... Now, my definition of 'design' is different to Blitz, I would have thought changing the route the exhaust took would be useful, but they decided to design the centre box out and stick a straight through pipe to the rear box without changing the rear box at all....hence the reason why Martin and Emmas car was used as the sound for that new driving game that was coming out. I makes it VERY loud, but then you can still stick the baffle in and make it quiet. Im about to get a Mongoose put on my car, but once I have enough money I will go for a Blitz nurspec and if I have grounding problems I will get the centre box removed. Adam W
What's a back box?
Guest Martin F
Ah, but changing the route of the exhaust may have meant more bends in the pipework and as we know the more bends the less flow. If you look at the Nur Spec route under the car (Justin's pics) you'll notice that it is fairly straight. I'm not sure how this compares to the HKS exhausts. Wez
I have heard that the HKS follows a route close to the original so the ground clearance is better. Is it possible to buy just the Nur Spec back box? you could then get powerflow to do the rest in straight through piping. Just a thought
Darren S
Hi all, Just read through this thread (very interesting and great pics of the Blitz Nur Spec tail pipe) but can I just make sure I've got this straight ......... I have a UK 6spd TT and want to upgrade the system but don't want to have to swap it every MOT, so I would assume the best I can do it ..... Replace the rear section with the Nur Spec and replace the front CAT with a suitable replacement. This will give me extra growl and a little extra poke but no worries of over boosting and no need for extra gauges. Have I got that right?? This will leave me with the 2nd, and least restrictive CAT in place to avoid failing the MOT. Cheers for your feedback.
