MarkTheBoy
Heres my second attempt at this one since the forum reset today Gonna get to the point this time... Currently insured with Sky insurance Renewal at the end of this month and they want £730 Im 27 with 5 years NCB and three points for 'enjoying my car on a sunny day' Its a GZ TT Auto and I wondered if anyone has any suggestions as to where I should try for a cheaper quote. Tried confused and wasted about 20mins of my life, Norwich union wanted £2200 and Tesco wanted £900 (same as last year weirdly enough even with another years NCB?) Earlier someone mentioned a-plan and I also wondered about adrian flux. Who does everyone else use?

jevansio
Sky beat A-Plan for me by a good £400!!!!
Graham S
I believe elephant do imports now, they always were the cheapest for me, so maybe the same for you. They quoted me 300 FC last year but i've heard they are a bit funny on paying out..
edge
A-plan with all the mods declared etc. Beat sky's quote for me by about £
grahamc
sky was utter sh!!t for me, not at all helpful. A-plan, completely different...
2JG
Adrian Flux beat my Sky quote by a good £200. Went back to Sky with the quote and they bettered it.
ads274
Elephant for me, a full £1k+ cheaper than anyone else!
juanchan
Elephant do imports now? When I got my quote back at Christmas from them it was so low I questioned it, and they told me that it was so cheap since they only covered UK cars, so they didn't worry about different imported models. Obviously that could have changed, but that was only 5-6 months ago. For me, Sky, Lancaster, Adrian Flux etc were all within about £30 of each other and Elephant beat them all by about £150, but they really didn't seem to know what they were talking about. To get the info about not covering imports I had to speak to quite a few people and ask a lot of questions. Sky etc generally came straight back with "a UK car, eh? Don't see many of them these days". Little things like that made me go with Sky.
Homer
Elephant have done import Supra's for years. It's just most of the numpties in the call centre have little idea how to classify them in the logging system. They are utter shite when it comes to paying out and hopeless when it comes to modifications. After 3 years they still do not insure cars with dump valves "because they are too high risk" God help any of you on Elephant if you ever make a claim! Adrian Flux and A-Plan were both a little cheaper than Sky for me, but their policies were very inferior. I paid the extra and went with Sky in the end, just for peace of mind. markymark
I also went with Sky as I felt they knew what they were talking about where others were willing to insure me but as Homer has said would pay peanuts if I made a claim( I'm hoping this is true)
MarkTheBoy
Cheers for your feedback guys, looks like i'll be trying adrian flux and a-plan tomorrow. I also went with Sky as I felt they knew what they were talking about where others were willing to insure me but as Homer has said would pay peanuts if I made a claim( I'm hoping this is true) I went with sky originally off the back of the clubs recommendation, they knew more about my car than I did. Trouble is how does anyone know how hard it is to make a successful claim with any insurance company?

But from what I have read by others on this club I will stay clear of companies like Elephant as it might look good on paper but when it comes down to the crunch they don't hold there end up. Dnk
Ive just had 2 quotes from Sky on here and Livingstones on the msoc. Livingstones were £311 fully comp and Sky were £490 fully comp. I was more impressed with Sky's knowledge and how they dealt with me so spoke to Scott again to see if they could do a better deal, he came back to me with a quote of £320 Just waiting on the paperwork. £320 Fully comp with £300 excess 7,500 limited mileage, agreed value and like for like replacement of parts. MrHanky
Im still with Sky despite the fact that they gave me a rubbish renewal price. I got a much better quote from A Plan and then I went back to Sky and they matched it. Sky has the benefit of Agreed Valuation for an extra £

Very good price On the plus side i've just got of the phone to Adrian Flux and they have quoted me £580 protected fully comp, also includes a years home start breakdown cover and lots of other bits. Im gonna speak to A-Plan and Sky and see if they are willing to better the offer.
