Chris Wilson
OK, got a Racelogic on a car, installed by A N Other. I want to update the file in it. I read the data, and save it to a file. I then upload a different file. All AOK so far. I then want to alter the wheel sensor positions, and wheel sizes. I physically change the values in the file, then upload to the unit. The uploaded file, when read, shows the wheel sizes are changed to the new figures, but the wheel sensors stay the same. Nothing I do will alter them. What gives...? Thanks. I tried the old DOS type software, which reads garbage when you read the file in the ecu, and the latest Racelogic Windows software, which fails to update the sensor positions. Unit is later type with screen.
Ian C
Is it possible that the fancy screen (digi adjust?) one has the wheels sensor setup in the digi adjuster box and that overrides the laptop settings? Failing that there is a 3rd part bit of software that is better than the official RLTC stuff that I use, someone on here wrote it ages ago, can't recall who. -Ian PS I have to use it as the offical RLTC software blue screens my laptop at the moment
Chris Wilson
Screen part is disconnected when the laptop is used. Using the old none Racelogic software I get junk readings from the unit (crazy wheel and RPM values). On the early units I agree, this software was bullet proof. It seems i have to use the racelogic stuff on the new ones, with my laptop. I had a thought last night. I'll try the calibration plug, and see if it will set its OWN wheel sesnor positions, and just use the software to programme whell size and RPM values. Thanks Ian. RedM
I have a bit of software called RLTC settings v0.9b Is this what you mean Ian, or, Chris, do you already have this? I think Phil (Terminator) had a hand in it's development. I can't remember fully. If you want it I can email it over. It's only 368kb. Ian C
Yeah it's the Graham Rudd one, v0.9b, 2001. Old but still good, although I noticed recently that it thinks my rear wheels are the reference wheels... Odd as it all works fine. Anyway, I guess if RLTC updated their units' functions and firmware, the chances of Graham's app still working is thin. -Ian

That's what I have always used, with zero problems, until Racelogic brought out the controller with a screen. Thanks for the offer though I have endless trouble with these newer ones. I am now told Racelogic have a firmware update for the units, anyone know about this? I intend ringing them tomorrow. Thanks.

Chris, I spoke to Mike Broadbent about 6 weeks ago about a firmware update as I was having problems with the rev limit, activation of launch control and intermittant engine cutout. The reply in terms of the LC limit and a possible firmware upgrade was (quoted from email): "It can't be changed I'm afraid, but it won't cause any problems either. This issue only arose because someone thought it would be a good idea to set the launch limit to 0 (it isn't.) So it's a combination of firmware and the DAT file". I don't think there are any upgrades to the firmware planned in all honesty as there are, as suggested above, manual workarounds which despite being a PITA, do just that, they work. Chris Wilson
Did he provide you with a workable DAT file? All the old style units I have fitted have worked beautifully, if I was buying one I'd try and find some old stock The new ones seem a total PITA to me. I changed the one you set mine up with mate to the Dry Road DAT from Terminator. Had the winter one on their before. It seems pretty good but haven't had the chance to properly test yet due to over issues as per usual, VSOS etc.
Sheefa
Chris - reply from Mike to my recent email fyi: "Hi Greg, I've asked our software engineers about this. Unfortunately it would involve a fundamental rewrite of the firmware, so I'm afraid it is unlikely to happen. Given that the issue does not really exist if the system is set up correctly (by not setting the launch rev limit to 0) I don't anticipate this will be a major problem. Regards, Mike." Pete
I reckon we'll be up for the pub on Sat if you want to try my laptop beforehand?
