jevansio
Work has started to get the old engine out, parts have been sent off for polishing. Old cams don't look too bad either

jevansio
Just added Polished Greddy Inlet Manifold & Q45 Throttle Body to the list Been down to Storm today with Michel, Stu & Ian. Engine is now out, bit of paintwork going on in engine bay area to bring it up nice, new engine target fitting date is next Saturday, polsihing my old inlet manifold was going to be a hold-up, but now I'm getting Michels old Greddy that won't be an issue Stu showed me the Tial BOV we'd be using & the polished pulleys (the ones he's using on his monster Supe so good enough for me)

Bobbeh
Good luck with your mods m8y Is that the stock oil cooler in the right headlight shot? - looks a bit manky whatever it is And whats that muck on your cams?
jevansio
Cheers Mr Keef & Bobbeh, it is a stock oil cooler but is being used as a PAS cooler
Bobbeh
Ooo, I never knew it was there Good idea with the PAS cooler Where are you mounting the oil cooler? Further down?
jevansio
I don't think that's the stock location of an oil cooler, we just put it there for ease of running the PAS fluid lines, I think the real oil cooler will be mounted behind the FMIC

jevansio
Just been down to Storm to see the latest progress. Engine is now out, bit more spray work has been done to tidy the engine bay up, alternator etc sprayed black, the rest of the engine bay is getting similar treatment so the final result should be pretty smart. Geordie Steve's car in the background there in pic 2: This is my old engine & gearbox out, it's got the polished cam cover on that will be going on the new engine: Here's the polished Greddy inlet that's going on (came from Michel, thanks buddy), should release a few more ponies. I'll be getting his polished Q45 throttle body too: Now my favourite bit, Precision GT4088R 0.72 A/R compressor, 0.68 A/R turbine, Big thanks to Stu for just starting his car up!!!!!! I've never heard anything like that before, fantastic car mate. Ian I'll bring some chocy bics on Saturday

jevansio
Thanks chaps, Nic, hopefully the new engine should be back in Sat / Mon. It is being mapped 8th June so that is in effect how long the whole install will take (as I won't get the car back until then).

jevansio
Another update, engine, head & gearbox are now assembled, inlet manifold is on. HKS cam gears have been swapped for AEM ones, but I'll be changing them for 5 bolt ones in the future anyway:
wkdtime
It's really all coming together now, your in safe hands with Michel. Exact set up as mine bar the ECU and Build, you'll love that turbo, the size along with the A/R size is spot on for the 6 Speed:)
