dont have a clue what it means tho,can someone explain?

The figure on the left is the download rate in kbit/s, the one on the right is the upload.

A very rough way to convert this to MB (Megabit, not megabyte ;) ) is to move the decimal place 3 to the left. e.g.

3682kb/s = 3.6MB connection

So, MrDibbly should be seeing 20,000kb/s on his 20MB connection.

20mb broadband does not mean you will get 20mb download. Your 3.5mb download speed is v.good.

I have a 6mb connection & get 600-700kbps download speed average.

That site lists kbits per second, not kb. he's getting 350kb/s download, not 3.5mb/s

It's okay, buit no where near what your line should be capable of. It doesn't look like the site can keep up with the demand so the results are lower than your actual line speed. There 3 of us on this thread that got the same results from our NTl connections.

A faster site is http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php Try downloading the bundle file there and let us know the speed. Mine was just showing 1mb/s (10,000 kbps), which is the maximum speed on my 10MB NTL line.

That sites never given me an accurate speed rate. If you are truely 20mbits you should be downloading around 1.8 megabytes a second.. as I get 950k on 10 meg.

Its under a high load, try again a a less busy time.

It seems that the south is getting the upgrade first with no timeframe for the midlands and northerners :(

I'm with NTL/Virgin, I didnt even know about a 20 mbit upgrade!

They didn't send you a letter ? well the jist of the letter is the price will go up to £37 but the speed will be "up to 20 mbps with a 768 kbps upload speed." I can't finmd the link to the upgrade location / time scale

Unfortunately it only states "Completed" or "TBC"

I knew the guys who knew more about would explain.

Basically i think an easy way to put it is,

10mb - should see about 900kbs-1000kbs So (1mb Sec)

20mb - should see about 1800kbs - 2000kbs (2mb Sec)

Think thats how it works roughly am i right guys?

BLOODY HELL

just ran it again! Guessing the sites not so busy now.

Thats some serious speed how can it fluxuate so much!? The upload is still the same.

Thats more like it, that's the same as a 10mb connection, so it's still only showing half the speed you *could* have. The important thing is your latency is VERY low.

Just retried mine and I'm getting the same download, lower upload and more latency.
