Guest markus
Yo what's up guys? I am a happy owner of a silver 94 TT but I can't seem to solve this one problem I keep having with my boost controller. It's the Greddy Profec E-01. Where I set the boost, I choose AUTO (self learning mode). 1.2 bar (17,4 psi), gain 25 and a start boost of 1.00 bar (14,5 psi). Then I do a run full throttle run in 5th gear. (This is where the gearbox ratio is 1:1) it does confirm the stock boost, then you have to do a second run to finalize the self learning process, but it never completes the self learning mode. Any ideas on how to complete the process? I know True Twin conversion is one of the options but I'd like to have a turbo available at low rpm's. In the past I've only had the self learning process completed twice, one time with 1.00 (14,5 psi) bar, gain 30. Took it to the german autobahn where I finally completed the process. The second time with 1.10 bar (16 psi) and gain set to 10. As soon as the process is completed you can feel a definate power increase. Unfortunately I lost these settings now. With the 14,5 psi setting and gain 30, the second turbo kicked in right at 4000 rpm, with the 16 psi setting and 10 gain, it would come in at 5000 rpm. When I switch the boost controller off, it runs (14,5 psi) and the second turbo also kicks in at 5000 rpm, pretty late if you ask me. Obviously I'd like to have the second turbo spool up as soon as possible. Does the gain setting have something to do with this? Any input you guys can give me? Mad Ad
Yeh Ive got one but you need to keep your foot down when going for the second run and the controller will steadily go up on boost. Then when it reaches your target you lift off. Its a pain in the arse in this country hence why im gonna put mine on a rolling road.
SimonB
I just used the manual mode. I thought the nature of the sequential turbos and resulting boost curve confused the auto feature. I have the boost warning thing set to reduce the duty cycle at 1.3BAR, and the manual mode set to boost slightly above that. Then it holds it bang on 1.3BAR.
