carl0s
I want a boost gauge that uses a needle for the display, analogue style, but I want it to be electronic, so I don't have to bring hoses into the car, and can just run wires directly from the sensory things. can I get one? dandan
Most of the more expensive ones are, rightly or wrongly. When you say "get one" do you mean new or second hand?
Paul
DEFI , sensor under the bonnet with thin cables into the car. Only thing is that you need to buy a controller too and they ain't cheap. Paul
carl0s
that's no good. The one that I have (but haven't yet fitted) has the electronics are part of the unit. Unfortunately it has an LCD display. It does temperature too. Just doesn't look so slick.

The LCD one you have may have it all in but it's probably a cheapo With Defi you are getting quality with a remote sensor. Paul
carl0s
sorry yeah I mean it's no good 'cause you've gotta have a box for it. Maybe the box could be mounted in the engine bay? I was thinking the controller was yet another clutter thing for in the car.. ?
Paul
Doh, yeah the sensor goes under the bonnet and yes, the controller goes in the car. Not too big and can be tucked away under the dash or in the lid of the armrest as mine is. Doesn't really clutter the car up. Anyway, you say your skint so what's the point? especially with Defi cause they ain't cheap Paul
carl0s
my gauge was cheapo! I bought it from Justin for like £50, but I've taken it apart and it looks very well made. The company also seem quite specialised (http://www.spa-uk.co.uk). and it changes colour!!! I can have it either green or orange!!
Paul
Nice Stick a bit of orange tape on the front in the shape of a needle and pretend it's analogue Paul

Gaz Walker
Greddy... White or Black - sensor under bonnet and display in car. £170 I think they are No control unit needed... Or the Defi as suggested... Gaz.
Justin
I did say it wasn't pretty mate but it did the job very well on my other Supe before she got killed. When I can afford it I'm going for a defi on my new Supe with controller. Probably looking at £150 for the guage and £100ish for the controller but you can control all of your other Defi guages if you buy more than just the boost guage from the one controller. carl0s
I'm looking very much forward to fitting it, and like I said the electronics look very well made - high quality surface mounted stuff. I'm at a bit of a loss as to where to mount the switch though! Any ideas mate?
Justin
I drilled a tiny hole in the dash near the guage. Every passenger says 'what does that red button do?' and I say NOOOOOOO DON'T PRESS THAT!!!! Sh*ts em up See pic.
