hadyn
Ive done lots of searches, but I've yet to find anyone low or high mileage, old age or youngish whos fuel pump has failed like they do on other cars such as 200SXs. Has anyone on here had their stock j spec tt fuel pump fail, run lean etc?
Jake
Mine was causing the engine to run very lean at high boost. Changing it solved the problem.

TLicense
I wouldn't think the majority of people with degraded fuel pumps would actually notice. All that would happen is the ECU notices a increase in AFR's, so increases the injector duration to compensate. Unless, as Jake did, you monitor your AFR's and are beyond the capabilities of what the ECU can compensate for, you would never know.

Jake
On the dyno it was hitting 13:1 at 1.15bar around 5krpm and WOT. I dread to think what it had been previously hitting at 1.2 bar
hadyn
Crikey. I wonder if an older pump (120k miles) can cope with stock boost at 0.7-0.8 bar?
Sheefa
That's a little scary Jake. My hesitates at the 13 mark for a split second at 4,000 rpm on about 1.2bar and then drops into the very early 11s/10s. Before it was running in the 14'2 on boost due to previous twat head fouling the rubber hosing on the fuel pump install!
