RedM
I have some footage which shows as an MPEG icon and it's file type is 'movie clip'. It only plays in Media Player. How do I nab a frame from it when it won't play in any software that has a grab facility?
Ric
prt scr button usually works but sometimes it grabs everything else bar the movie content failing that get realplayer or media player classic and use the prt scr button
JustGav
Or you can use virtual dub mpeg to do it... Do a google for the program, then you can open the file and so do jpg save..

RedM
http://fcchandler.home.comcast.net/stable/ Try this version of it.. That's better. I can open the file, play it and grab the frame I require. Trouble is the quality is not even close to when it's playing through MP10. how u get on with that epc martin? Not tried it yet!
JustGav
That's better. I can open the file, play it and grab the frame I require. Trouble is the quality is not even close to when it's playing through MP10. The problem is during playback the mulitple frames will smooth each other out, and when grabbing a single image it will suffer from some of the native artifacting that MPEG has by default. There might be an option to de-interlace and some other fancy things which will take 3 frames and merge them together. I will see if I can find it.
