McGregory
I´ve checkt the IC hoses, filled them with pressure - every thing ok. I´ve checked the BOV. Its ok, too. I do not hear the first turbo spooling. The car drives like a NA, no problems at high rev or idle. No nouises from the turbos, but the noise of the exhauste increases. What can i check? McGregory
Hello, some ideas? Could be the first Turbo or the Wastegate defekt, even it does not make noise?
Bob
Check the pipes to your EGBV, and check the arm of the EGBV actuator (underneath the heat shield - you'll need to take off the top pipework to get at it)
McGregory
yeahh. thanks! I think, it is the EGBV !! I´ve checked THIS picture and the position of the bar and is completely in the other way. So it is open all the time. Then i´ve put some positiv pressure to the hose of the EBVC and it open only a little bit.
Bob
I may be wrong here, but I think that is a UK spec engine? Is yours UK-spec or J-spec? If it's j-spec, you need to be looking at the actuator marked "5" in this FAQ attachment: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13950&d=1112559186 and the VSV marked "4" in this picture: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13946&d=1112559170
McGregory
It is a j-spec At all, there is one question: Why the EGCV is permanent open and why i can not move the bar manual? I´ve found your older thread and I think, that parts of the second turbo may block the EGCV ?!!
Bob
Strip down the top turbo pipework to see what is going on with the actuator arm. It should look like this once you've got the heat cover off: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v649/tlicense/Blitz%20Twin%20Insallation/109_0930Large.jpg (Taken from TLicense's thread - have a look at http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=70974 if you need help getting the pipework off - from about post 14 onwards)
Bob
I had a very similar sounding problem a week or so ago, see here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=108946&highlight=bites+dust
McGregory
Like I thought. It´s the exhaust turbine blocking the VSV Exhaust. Time to go single The rest in the Catalisator
Bob
Yep, pretty conclusive there!
