Sheefa
Scary and anxious moment in the household to say the least. Sister gets back today after travelling around Thailand for 6 weeks to find out her dog has died as per this thread. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=106436 Not going to be easy as she'll want to be telling all her travelling stories etc and then this will hit her. Her room has been completely re-decorated too and she was looking forward to seeing that, but in the grand scheme of things it'll be worthless. Question is, when do we tell her as I'm going along with Mum and Dad. - At the airport itself straight away - Go for some lunch and tell her then - In the car on the way home (takes 30 mins) - On the drive before we get in the house (she'll probably notice Alfie hasn't ran up to the window and sat on his chair though) Everyone is shitting it. AndyT
There is no good time sheefa. Hopefully the right time will surface. Feel bad for you and the family. Shitty thing to happen.
MrRalphMan
That's a really hard one, I think it's going to have to be the first one. Get it out of the way ASAP.. She'll only wonder why you've kept it from her. But hey what do I know.. Good luck with what ever you decide.
edge
No time will be a good time but if it was me Id say best to tell her nearly straight away when you see her. Sorry to hear about the dog. Id be a mess if i lost any of mine.
Havard
I would tell her as soon as possible, possibly as you are getting in the car. She will then have time for the news to sink in during the drive home! Don't leave it till you get home as if she is upset she will be angry and will wonder why you didn't tell her while she was away or at the airport etc. Basically, the earlier the better!! Hope it goes ok Greg..... Either way it is not a good situation for her. H.
Guest Phillw454
Sorry for the loss mate Prob best to tell her before she gets home, maybe in the airport or car would be beast as she has time to prepare for when she gets home.
Sheefa
Off in 10. Think we will tell her as she gets to the car, not straight away in front of her friends. Thanks guys.
Matt _Aero top_
She'll probably guess something is wrong as you and ya parents won't be acting ya usuall selves as you'll always have it in the back of ya mind . A kind of one of those false smile moments
Wayney
Mate, sorry to hear about the deceased. Best to tell her as soon as theres a good moment, as the others hav said in the car bak is always a good point. But then again after a 12hr + long haul flight from Thailand (getting little or no sleep & havin to eat that plane food!!), I can't see she'll be in chatty mood. Best of luck dude
bromy
I'd say when you get back in the car, not so public
stupra
I'd say leave it till you get home, you can't really say "hi, did you have a good time ?, good to see you". "By the way, Alfie was knocked down an killed a while ago". Just doesn't seem right to me. But thats IMO, you do what feels best mate, it'll be hard either way.
