4packet Posted May 6, 2007 Share Posted May 6, 2007 Can anyone help me confirm if I need a new PAS pump? Generally from cold the problem is not evident, put as soon as the car is warm and I put a lot of lock on (parking, turnings etc) the steering judders as if the system has air in it. The pump doesn't seem to make any untoward noise and I haven't seen any of the typical foaming that some speak of. I have replaced the fluid with Dex III and cleaned the reservoir filter. Any ideas? 4packet Posted May 6, 2007 Author Share Posted May 6, 2007 Its a wire mesh type filter in the res mounted on the nearside inner wing. Flushed it through with gunk(?) engine de-greaser type product, brake cleaner and blasted it through with an air line etc. Made no difference anyhow....
