Pixelfill
Can anyone help? I've just signed up for Sky Broadband, only I'm not impressed with the provided NetGear Router, I'd like to use my old router as all my PCs, printer and NAS are set up for that SSID etc. however I don't know what settings I need to connect to Sky. These settings seem to be hidden on the Sky Netgear router. Can anyone help me with the settings I need. Mike

Steve
You can log onto the router by entering 192.168.0.1 in your explorer bar. The username is admin, the password is sky. Click on Wireless settings at the top on the left and just change the SSID name and password to what you want. One thing to remember though, if you do a full reset of the Sky router (hold reset button for 15 seconds), all these settings will go back to Sky's default settings

Mike If you are after the connection ID and password so that you can enter the details onto your own router then this is not shown when you actually logon to the Sky router. I tried for talking to Sky for ages to get them to give me the details but they either refused or did not know. Its a real pain in the butt and one of the reasons I will leave them once my 12 months are up. Mark
supRo
I have just installed Sky Broadband. It uses a modified version of the Netgear DG834GT router which I think is a very good router; I've had one before. Contrary to what I've read, I have been able to change the settings including the SSID. Apparently you can only use the supplied router for Sky Broadband. See the following for more details: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-router/772-sky-router-setup-configuration.html And http://www.macworld.co.uk/forums/msgs.cfm?msg=80440&forum=
