GReddy Turbo Timer-Help

Recommended Posts

Have the above turbo timer and have just purchased the correct harness to fit. I`ll be able to find where to plug it near the ignition but being an idiot with electrics does anyone know if the parking brake has to be wired into it? There is a brown and purple wire coming off the harness which appears to be optional? and as i read it, one goes to the handbrake and one goes to the back of the speedo? Do i need these two wires wiring in? on my 94 J-Spec TT6? Any help very gratefully received.

The handbrake one is optional. It turns off the engine immediately if anyone releases the handbrake (i.e. to drive off in your car!). Dunno about the other one. Is is supposed to be for RPM so the timer can work out how long to let it run for or something?

The Greddy Turbo timer has a function that shows your speed so thats what the purple wire is for, goes to the speedo... and i think thats how it works out how long to leave the car running when in the auto mode...

brown wire is the handbrake which doesnt have to be connected but advised to do it as said above it cuts the engine straight away when its down, plus its not that hard to do, just lift up the gear surround section and you will see two wires from the handbrake, need the one that switches the 0V not the one with permanent 0V..
