Wayney
Hi all, I have Front AP Racing Calipers + 330mm Grooved disks, does any one know if Stock UK Pads would fit the AP Racing Calipers? Need a new set of pads as my current ones are made of any extreamly hard wearing compound and generating a breaking squeal. As the whole pad does not sit on the disc. As a result the brake pad is longer in width by 2-3 mm, than the brake disc and hence generates a lip (of unworn brake pad) resulting in a break squeal. Any ideas guys? Ray
Evening ol'son, have you taken out the pad and matched it with a stock Toyota pad?
RobSheffield
I doubt they will fit, as the disc is larger (i think) and the caliper is different shaped etc. Sorry for the none technical reply earlier

Chiefgroover
nope, and why would you want such a crap and dusty pad. Try endless jap web sire and the caliper should be there and get a decent pad like ccx or ccr.

Gaz Walker
As Ernie says, you'll need a pad specialist like Endless to make you a set. Don't expect it to be cheap, pads for big brake kits an can run at hundreds of pounds. We have one customer that pays £750 for a set of pads for one race Gaz. Chris Wilson
I have loads of brand new AP 6 pot caliper pads in a variety of compounds. Contact me by e-mail if you want prices and info. These ONLY fit AP Racing 6 pot calipers, nothing else.

Not unusual at all, that's similar to what I pay for Performance friction pads for my Skyline, although I get about 4 track days out of them. As I have always said, you get what you pay for with brakes, clutches, dampers et cetera.
Wayney
Chris, the current problem I have is the pads width is wider than the width of the disc. There for simply replacing the pads would not help, do u recommend to change the discs? Have u got a more street friendly pad, I am not after 24 hr endurance racing pads, just some thing with firm braking for every day use on the road. Any ideas how much for new AP pads & discs? Cheers Wayne

Cheers Wayne wayne it sounds like you have a custom set up, i am in the middle of a custom front brake upgrade at the moment, the pad depth (that is the width of the pad) should not exceed the effective braking area of the disk, if you look on AP's web site the disks quote a maximum pad depth (ie the ones i am looking at 54mm) you could get your existing pads machined quite easily and maybe check with AP about pad compounds, post up some pics if you can

Cheers Wayne There are at least two pad depths available, what depth pad have you got now? What depth do you need? I take it this is not a commercailly available kit you have, but something made up from disparate discs and calipers?
TLicense
Why do you have larger dia pads than discs? I have AP 6 pot's and my pads and discs line up fine. The correct pads are Ferodo CP3894D54-DS2500. You can get a DS3000 which is a hotter grade pad, which, I feel, are overkill for road use. The discs are a little complicated. The reason being there are 2 sizes available for the Supe, 355 and 362. For each size there are four or five different discs which generally relate to the PCD of the diameter of the mating holes of the disc bell. If you tell me which disc bell you have (measure the O.D. and the no. of fixing holes to the disc) I should be able to tell you which disc you need. Hope that helps,
Chris Wilson
The D54 bit of the part number is the depth of the pads, i am pretty sure there are less deep pads in that family available
TLicense
Chris, When he says depth, I think he means the O.D. of the pad. Not the actual pad thickness.
Chris Wilson
I know, that D54 is the depth of the pad, from the OD of the friction material to the ID. A pad 54 mm *THICK* would need some VERY wide calipers... Maybe Pad Part No. CP3894D46 is more appropriate for him, with a depth of only 46 mm?
