I'm sure I've heard that in a case like this you don't have to legally return it for 12 months if they ask for it back. If that's true, and I haven't just made it up, play the stock market or something and keep the rewards for yourself before paying back what you owe :)

 

Now that's an idea. That's what banks do with our money.

I'd keep hold of it for a sensible period of time before thinking about spending it. As others have said, they are allowed to attempt recovery of the money (though as I understand it they can't do so without your authorisation).

 

The question is... does this mean there is someone who was expecting a large refund who only got £17?!

So lets assume that some person within that company accidently put the money in the wrong account,ie yours.

This would mean that it is human error.I assume that you personally have never made a mistake?

Have you thought of when the matter comes to light,which indeed it will,how the company will react to that person?

Now Im not saying that you will be helping that person potentially keep their job within that company,but...?:taped:

cut a long story short. ordered some stuff from a large company a few weeks back. just had an email from them apologisin for me not receivin my things, which i have, and have given me a refund of........

 

 

.....£3752.45!!!!!

 

i only spent £17 :blink:

 

Just saw this thread ! any chance you PM me their name and number, I think I wouldn't mind making £4k out of £20 ? :D

 

You get %20 back from me though ;)
